Tuckernuck’s Friends & Family Sale is LIVE! Use code FRIENDS to save more when you spend more.

My style has changed a good bit over the last decade since I moved from Utah to North Carolina and also as I got a little older. Everyone’s style evolves over time, and in the last few years, I’ve especially started to love southern styles that are colorful, feminine, and slightly preppy. And since shopping and sourcing items for readers is part of my full-time gig here on the blog and Instagram, I spend lots of time scrolling through websites and scouring new arrivals to find great dresses, jeans, tops, shoes and accessories. (There are links below to some of those round-ups so you can find my current favorites in each category, plus a couple other popular fashion posts.)

One of my ALL time favorite fashion retailers is Tuckernuck. I discovered Tuckernuck only a few years ago, but since finding them, I’ve become rather loyal. It was started by friends Jocelyn Moore Gailliot, Madeline Moore, and September Rinnier in a Georgetown garage, and has been incredibly successful since their 2012 launch. The women started the company while hunting for unique gifts, clothes and accessories for the many weddings, baby showers, and dinner parties they were attending. They wanted an easier place to shop (specifically online) for things, since it was taking them hours to find what they were shopping for.

I’ve found that Tuckernuck is exactly that — an online boutique sourced so well that I want to order nearly every item they carry. They make shopping so easy because they only carry the best items from the best brands. They also have amazing hostess and wedding gifts on their website too. It’s truly a one-stop-shop. My favorite items from Tuckernuck are always dresses, though, since they’re an entire outfit all on their own. They have dresses at every price point, for every occasion.

12 Best Tuckernuck Dresses

Today I’m sharing a roundup of my favorite dresses from Tuckernuck for the fall, including casual day dresses, weddings, date nights and more.

1. Sandalwood Vivianne Crewneck Dress

Frrst up, the Sandalwood Vivianne Crewneck Dress. This is a perfectly simple, yet practical, fall dress. The shape is very classic: long sleeve, shift style with a relaxed fit. Yet it can be dressed up or down and accessorized in a ton of different ways. I ordered a size small in this and wish I had gotten an XS instead since the fit is definitely on the boxy side, but I am able to make it fit better with a belt – which adds some interest to the look anyway. I believe everyone needs a tan-colored sweater dress in their closet for fall.

2. Red Lyles Dress

This Red Lyles Dress is the ideal option for fall family photos, a fall wedding, or even holiday events. The red leans on the pinker side which is beautiful, and the fit is shockingly good, even without the belt. Maxi dresses can swallow my petite frame, but this fits perfect. I went with an XS since I knew the fit was relaxed. I recommend sizing down if you’re on the fence. Since the belt is removable, it works for maternity as well.

3. Navy Knit Striped Frenchie Dress

This Navy Knit Striped Frenchie Dress is one of my favorite purchases from last year that I’ve already started wearing again this fall. It’s boxy but not oversized or sloppy. It’s made with 100% cotton but has a luxe knit feel and can easily be worn into the fall.

4. Chambray Callahan Shirt Dress

I love the fit of the Chambray oversized shirt dress. I’m wearing an XS, and it’s relaxed (especially in the back), but still flattering. Many oversized dresses can look like a tent, especially on my petite 5’1″ frame, but this one still looks polished and put together.

However, the material is sheer (well, just in the chambray colorway…not every color!), so I tend to wear a skirt slip underneath (or Amazon biker shorts which I like to wear when I’m chasing my son around in a dress). The material is not super soft when it first arrives, but it’s softened with a few wears. And it has pockets!

I love this dress because it can easily be worn from summer to fall. The sleeves give it that fall “feel”, but the material is lightweight and easy to wear on lingering warm days. It’s also one of my favorite dresses to wear to church. (This post has more ideas about what to wear to church.) Be sure to look at this listing of the fall Callahan colorways – especially the “winetasting” color.

5. Chloe Dress

I got the Chloe Dress in a recent summer order and WOW I’m in love. I feel like Jackie O whenever I put it on. It’s the perfect blend of sophisticated and polished, but the color and pockets make it fun and easy to wear. It’s the ideal dress for dressy events like a graduation ceremony, special church service, work lunch, etc. I love having something like this in my closet for events where a sundress just doesn’t cut it. While the lilac color is on the warm weather side, the Chloe dress comes in a TON of fall and winter colors. The shape is so functional for all seasons, and so is the fabric. For the fall, I’d go for the navy.

The chest of this dress is snug, so I sized up to a small to account for my bustier chest due to breastfeeding. Keep that in mind when choosing your sizing.

6. Tweed Jackie Dress

If you work in an office, the Tweed Jackie Dress needs to be in your cart. The braided color, gold buttons, and tweed material make the most polished, luxe work dress I’ve ever seen. This would also be perfect for church. I love that it comes in a bunch of colors that can all be worn with nude pumps.

7. Nightly Organza Palmerston Dress

I ordered the Nightly Organza Palmerston Dress as a holiday cocktail attire dress last winter when I was pregnant. I love having a fun yet conservative option in my closet for events. The fit is relaxed, so there is plenty of room for a bump, but it’s not maternity specific.

8. Royal Shirt Dress

I got this Royal Shirt Dress early in the spring two years ago in a cobalt blue (sadly, no longer available), but comes in so many other great colors. It’s ideal for business casual work wear, church, or just to wear for daily mom life. The three-quarters length sleeves and button down front feel very polished, but the boxy fit keep it casual and comfortable. The material is silky smooth stretch cotton sateen fabric and doesn’t wrinkle easily. And yes, it has pockets.

This dress comes in seven colorways. The solid colors are great for professional settings, but the floral patterns are so tempting. The length is a little long on me, so I got it altered shortly after getting it. (The picture below is pre-hemming.) Keep in mind I’m 5’1″, so if you’re a little taller, it may not need any hemming, and it runs TTS. This dress is right around $200, so it’s an investment, but a worthy one considering how much wear you could get out of it for years to come. It’s a timeless style.

I’ve worn this dress many ways: heels, sandals, and even white sneakers (I favor these Veja sneakers). Throw a baseball cap on, and you’re ready for your kids’ sporting events right after work.

9. Denim Trapunto Stitch Sofia Shirt Dress

I love a denim dress for the fall, and this Denim Trapunto Stitch Sofia Shirt Dress is a perfect feminine take. The A slightly boxy silhouette and drop shoulders gives it a polished but playful look. Denim can be worn practically year-round, but it’s just perfect in the fall.

10. Winter White Corduroy Clifton Dress

Nothing feels more fall than a creamy white dress, right? This Winter White Corduroy Clifton Dress is the ideal fall work dress with the stand up collar, 3/4 length sleeves, and a-line silhouette. It comes in a ton of colors, but the winter white is calling my name. I love how the model has it styled with tall brown boots.

11. Black Milla Dress

I LOVE the Black Milla Dress. Anything double-breasted is right up my alley, and the notched lapel collar sends it over the top. While it might feel a little bit bold to wear a trench-style dress, it’s actually incredibly easy to style! Throw on a pair of flats or pumps and you’re ready for a work event. I got a similar dress from the Nordstrom Sale this past year and get compliments each time I wear it.

12. Exclusive Chocolate One Shoulder Maxi Dress

I saw this Exclusive Chocolate One Shoulder Maxi Dress a few weeks ago and thought it would be gorgeous for a fall wedding – so I added it to this fall wedding guest dresses roundup. I love the one shoulder look and the color – both feel lightweight and airy enough to wear in the early fall while it’s still warm, but it’s totally appropriate for a later fall wedding too.

I hope you find a dress or two you love! You may also find these posts helpful:

Growing up in the Mormon church, I always wore a knee-length dress to church. And guys always wore a suit, or at the very least, a button-down shirt and a tie. (The Mormon church dress code provides guidelines around what is appropriate both in and out of church.) So when I started to go to a non-Mormon church as an adult, I was shocked by how casual it was. Granted, that particular church was incredibly casual, even for a non-Mormon contemporary service, but still, it was a big adjustment.

Now, Tommy, Thomas, Charles and I go to a church with casual dress, but probably less so than the first one we went to together. And I’d say that how I dress for church now is a blend. I always dress respectfully and conservatively, but my dresses are not always knee-length, and I do wear sleeveless items. And there have been days where I’ve worn jeans to church with a nice blouse. The common theme is to dress nicely, appropriately, and conservatively when entering a church, regardless of denomination.

In today’s post, I’m answering a few common questions about how to dress for Sunday, along with some recent outfits and finds I’d recommend if you’re shopping!

What to Wear to Church (for casual & traditional services)

What is an appropriate outfit for church?

This all depends on the church you’re attending. Honestly, there’s rarely a true “church dress code” (except perhaps in the LDS church!). As I mentioned above, in the Mormon church (aka The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), it’s inappropriate to wear anything shorter than knee length, and women can never wear sleeveless and a button-up with a tie is typical for guys.

However, the church we go to now is more casual. It’s appropriate to wear jeans and a blouse, and I’d say most men wear a collared shirt and long pants. I almost always wear a dress because I enjoy dressing up. So, what to wear to church truly varies by congregation and denomination.

I haven’t been to every type of church, but I’ve been to Baptist churches, a Catholic church, a Methodist church, a Presbyterian church, and non-denominational churches. I think most churches lean dressier, with the exception of non-denominational ones, which lean more casual. Some church websites will list their dress code, so you could try to look it up before you attend. Or, check out the church’s Instagram account – most post pictures of people attending services, so you’ll be able to get an idea that way.

Generally, it’s always appropriate to dress modestly and respectfully in a place of worship. Here are some options that are appropriate for many churches:

For ladies:

  • A dress or skirt that hits around the knee (or mid-knee for Mormon churches)
  • A blouse or sweater that is not low-cut
  • Tailored jeans with no rips or distressing for casual services
  • Heels, sandals, or nice dress shoes

For men:

  • Khakis and a belt
  • A button-down shirt or polo
  • Tailored jeans that aren’t distressed
  • A pair of dress pants or trousers, button-down and tie with a blazer or suit jacket (this is probably less common these days, but would be appropriate at an LDS church, a Catholic church and perhaps a Presbyterian church – just from observation, not from a place of expertise for the latter two).

How to dress casually for church

It’s important to note that “casual” does not mean the same thing at church vs. the rest of your life. If you’re planning to attend a casual church and aren’t sure what to wear, it’s a safe bet to go with an appropriate dress and sandals. I don’t wear thin strapped dresses for church, since they feel more revealing than I’m comfortable with, but I don’t think it’s necessarily inappropriate given the casual nature of our church. If you know that jeans are appropriate there, then you could also wear nice jeans, sandals, and a dressy blouse.

When considering church outfits, even in a casual environment, steer clear of graphic tees, overly distressed or ripped jeans, revealing dresses and athletic wear.

However, while these are all great things to keep in mind if you and/or your church cares about your attire, I wouldn’t let your outfit keep you from attending church. I’ve seen homeless men in our church, and I can promise you that absolutely NO ONE cared what they were wearing.

How to dress for church in jeans

If you want church outfits with jeans, stick to a well-fitting pair and leave your distressed styles at home. I love my distressed straight leg jeans from Abercrombie, but I don’t wear them to church. Instead, I wear a pair of tailored jeans and heels (or sandals) or a pair of white skinny jeans. I think the style of jeans (e.g. mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, etc.) doesn’t matter as much as the distressing — or lack thereof.

I also go for classic, dressy blouses if I’m wearing jeans for church. Here’s a blog post with a roundup of my favorite Tuckernuck blouses.

What shoes should you wear to church?

Sandals, heels, and loafers are my most worn church shoes. I stay away from sneakers (even fashion sneakers like Vejas), since they feel a little too casual for my taste.

Does God care what you wear to church?

My belief is no, he doesn’t. But again, I think this depends on your church and faith.

In the LDS church, your attire (wearing modest clothes) is viewed as a sign of respect to God and yourself. I can’t speak to how other denominations view it, however.

I’m confident our current church would say that God doesn’t care what you wear but cares more about your heart. And I’d love to hear how your church views this topic or how you view it personally.

Casual Church Outfits

Let’s get into some church attire inspiration. Here are a few cute church outfits I’ve worn recently. There is a mix of styles, so hopefully, you can find a couple that work for your denomination.

Church Appropriate Dresses

Most of the dresses I wear for church now are dresses I’d wear in my daily life. I love maxi dresses, midi dresses, and even mini dresses, as long as they aren’t super short.

Maxi Skirts and nice blouses

I find skirts especially convenient for church these days, since I’m breastfeeding and often need to feed Charles mid-service in the nursing mother’s room.

Jeans and a nice blouse

If I wear jeans to church (a rarity since I prefer to wear a dress), they are always non-distressed denim. The pair below on the right does have a raw hem, but that’s the extent of the distressing. I don’t own trousers, but a nice pair would also be appropriate to pair with a blouse for church.

Does your church have a specific dress code? If so, share below! Let’s help others who may be intimidated to attend church simply because they don’t know what to wear. Ultimately, God doesn’t care what you wear. 🙂

Over the years, I’ve tried jeans from about 30 different brands. (I once tried 15 brands just to find the perfect pair of white skinny jeans.) And while I don’t think I’ll ever be totally done shopping for jeans, I have landed on a few brands that I LOVE and order from year after year.

One of my go-to brands for jeans is Madewell. They have a cult following for good reason. They carry so many styles, every size under the rainbow (they’re extremely size-inclusive and have tons of great curvy jeans), multiple rises for each pair, petite and tall lengths, and tons of washes. If you can drop by in person at one of their stores, be sure to visit the Madewell Denim Bar, which has an extensive selection to try on.

With so many options, however, it can be challenging to figure out which ones are best, especially if you shop online. So, in today’s post, I’m sharing a roundup of the best Madewell jeans and my thoughts about them. Hopefully, this helps you narrow down your favorites or find a new pair to love!

Madewell Jeans Size Guide

First, let’s go through some sizing information so that you know exactly what size get when you place your order. Madewell is extremely size inclusive with options ranging from size 23 to 33, 14W to 28W, and three inseams: Petite, Plus, Standard, and Tall.

Do Madewell Jeans Run True-To-Size?

In my experience, Madewell jeans fit exactly as described on the website. Some of the styles are designed to sit low on your hips with a relaxed, baggy feel, and when that’s the case, Madewell notes it and suggests sizing down for a closer fit. They also include fit notes if they receive feedback that the jeans run small or large based on reviews.

Madewell has an entire page on its site dedicated to a “denim fit guide,” where you can read about the fabric and materials of each pair of jeans. It walks through the different stretch options and the difference between the regular and curvy fit and teaches you exactly how to measure yourself for your jeans. It goes above and beyond to make sure you feel confident with your sizing choice.

If you want someone to walk you through the sizing options, check out Madewell’s virtual styling option.

Madewell Virtual Stylists

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen from a brand. Madewell offers the option to book a video call with one of their stylists to talk through all things sizing. The appointment is complimentary and you actually earn 250 points (which translates to $10) for each appointment that you attend. How cool is that?? Read more about this styling option here.

The 6 Best Madewell Jeans

1. The Perfect Vintage Jean

The Perfect Vintage Jean from Madewell is what I call my OG pair of Madewell jeans, even though I had a few pairs before these. They were my gateway into non-skinny jeans and the first pair of straight-leg/mom jeans that looked good on my petite frames (I’m 5″1 and was hesitant to try them).

This pair is a great option for women looking for a style other than skinny jeans. Think of them like an “intro pair.” They’re snug and flattering on the bum and through the hips and thighs, but they get looser at the bottom, giving them a more relaxed feel. They’re cropped slightly above the ankle (key for cropped pants) and high-waisted. Win-win-win!

I’m petite (5’1″), so I ordered the petite length (they have petite, regular, tall, and plus-sized options) in a size 26. I wish I had sized down in these, since they stretched out over time. This pair has a slight stretch to them, which makes them very comfortable for all-day wear, but they don’t hold their structure as well as a pair of jeans that are 100% denim. I recommend washing and drying this pair often to shrink them back after each wear. It’s a matter of preference, but I like to have a few pairs of jeans with stretch and a few without. Since I wear them practically non-stop year-round, I like options.

The Perfect Vintage Jeans are available directly from Madewell and are currently on sale!

The photos below are from a few years ago, and the wash of the Perfect Vintage Jeans I’m wearing below is no longer made. The pair linked above (the berdelle wash) has the most similar coloring.

I style them with sneakers, sandals, and heels.

2. Kick Out Crop Jeans

These used to be called the Cali Demi-Boot jeans, but what does that even mean? I’m thankful they’ve changed the name to something that makes more sense: Kick Out Crop. These are cropped jeans with a tiny flare at the ends. They’re flattering with all sorts of shoes because they show your ankle a bit, and the wider bottom balances slightly chunkier shoes, like sneakers.

Madewell makes many variations of this style, and I own the Pure White wash in the Kick Out Crop. I wore them throughout the spring and summer and can’t say enough great things about them. In the photos below, I am wearing a size 25 Petite, and they are a perfect fit.

This cut is a little trendier right now, for good reason! Skinny jeans are classic, but this new cropped style is flattering, especially for someone petite. The Pure White wash (which is what I have) is the perfect shade of white: not too tight, not too loose, not too thin, and also not see-through. If you are petite (5’4″ and below), I suggest the petite inseam. I like my cropped straight-leg jeans to hit above my ankle.

3. The Darted Barrel-Leg Jean

New this year to Madewell’s denim selection is the Darted Barrel-Leg Jean. Barrel-style jeans are a big trend this fall – they give the illusion of bowed legs and have a relaxed, casual fit. While I was unsure about the barrel-leg trend on my petite frame, I ordered these jeans as soon as my size became available. I particularly love that the barrel fit is much more subdued than some other options at different retailers this fall. The leg isn’t super wide, but it does have the arched look that I was going for. Since these come in a petite fit, I knew they’d be my most flattering barrel jeans option. Photos to come, as soon as these arrive!

4. Stovepipe Jeans

If you’re looking for a not-skinny-but-not-straight pair of jeans, the Stovepipe jeans from Madewell are a great option. They have a fitted leg and bum, but the ankle is slightly looser, which gives them a polished, tailored look. I don’t own this style yet. However, I want to snag a pair to style with loafers and flats since the Kick Flare can feel a little too playful at times. The Stovepipe jeans look great with flats.

There are a ton of different fits of the Stovepipe style. However, I love the basic Stovepipe Jean black rinse.

5. The ’90s Straight Jean

Next on my wishlist is the Madewell The ’90s Straight Jean. I have a pair of ’90s Straight Jeans from Abercrombie that I absolutely love. See photos in this Abercrombie Jeans Review I shared. So, I want to see how these compare. When I first tried this style from Abercrombie, I wasn’t sure how to style the full-length jeans with such a relaxed feel, but now I love them!

You wear the exact same shoes you normally would. Then, you just have to get over the mental hump of them looking a little different than you’re used to. They are a fun trend that’s coming back, and I’m here for it. Madewell’s ’90s Straight Jean comes in a ton of washes and fits. However, the pair I’m eyeing is the cream colored Vintage Canvas. I love white jeans in the spring and summer, but my Pure White washes feel a little bright for the winter. This cream-colored pair is the ideal winter white!

6. The Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jean

I can’t wait to get a pair of wide-leg trouser style jeans! The Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jean is my favorite Madewell version, especially the Lavaca Wash with the patch front pockets.

This style is not cropped, which means you’ll want to pair them with shoes that allow the hem to “kiss” the floor. I typically wear heels when I style wide-leg full-length jeans, but every once in a while, I’ll wear sneakers or flats. The key is to hem the jeans to just barely touch the floor in the shoes you’ll wear most often. Read more about how to style wide-leg jeans in this blog post.

Wide-leg jeans are having a major moment, and it’s no surprise why. They’re chic and comfortable, and they look very on-trend and stylish without a ton of effort. However, I know that learning how to style a new fit of jeans can be challenging– especially if you’ve been on the skinny jeans train for a long time.

In this blog post, I share my favorite wide-leg jean styles for fall, my tips on what shoes to wear with wide-leg jeans, and a few outfit ideas and inspiration for your closet. I love jeans (I have 40+ pairs in my closet), and teaching women how to branch out of their typical denim styles and embrace new, emerging styles is one of my favorite things to do. I hope you feel more confident ordering and wearing wide-leg jeans after you read this post.

How to Style Wide-Leg Jeans

The best wide-leg jeans

Before you can style wide-leg jeans, you have to find the right pair to buy. As someone with a petite frame (I’m 5’1″), finding jeans that fit well can be difficult. (However, I did find eight great petite jeans that don’t need alterations, which you can see in this post). These are my favorite pairs of wide-leg jeans (that will also look great if you’re taller, since you won’t need to hem them).

Meg High Waist Raw Hem Ankle Wide Leg Jeans

These are a great budget pick. The Meg High Waist Raw Hem Ankle Wide Leg Jeans are cropped, which makes them even easier to style (we’ll get into that later). They’re stretchy and comfortable. If you’re just branching into wide-leg jeans, the Meg jeans from Kut from the Kloth will be a great gateway pair. Plus, you can order them from Nordstrom and get free shipping and returns. Fit is true-to-size.

Joe’s Jeans The Mia High Waist Ankle Wide Leg Jeans

Another great pair of wide-leg jeans that are easy to style are these Mia jeans from Joe’s. They’re cropped, so you can wear many different shoes with them, and the light wash is casual and laid-back. The high waist is essential for accentuating the waist, which is important when the rest of the leg gives an A-line shape. Fit is true-to-size.

Abercrombie High Rise Cropped Wide Leg Jean

Another cropped wide-leg jean, this time from Abercrombie. I ordered this pair of High-Rise Cropped Wide-Leg Jeans this summer and still wear them into fall. I’ve harped on it a few times already, but a cropped wide-leg is much easier to style than a full-length wide-leg. I sized down one size in these.

Agolde Harper Jeans

The best pair of wide-leg jeans I found this year are the Agolde Harper Jeans. They are technically “straight-leg” jeans online at AGOLDE, but even Nordstrom calls them wide-leg since that’s how they fit. Most straight-leg jeans taper just a tad toward the ankle, but these do not. They keep their shape all the way through the hem and have a wide opening at the ankle that covers my shoes. They’re pricey, but Agolde holds up year after year. If a super wide-leg fit makes you nervous, this is a fantastic option to start with. Size down if you’re on the fence; I have a size 26 in these and wear a 27 in most brands.

Pistola Penny High Rise Wide Leg Crop

If you’re looking for a non-blue wide-leg jean, this pair of Penny High Rise Wide Leg Crop from Pistola is perfect. They’re comfortable and flattering and have a unique look since they don’t have front pockets. They feel like a blend of chinos and denim, perfect for this bluff green wash. I highly recommend this style for offices where blue jeans are a no-go, but you can still be business casual.

Unfortunately, the bluff colorway I own is mostly sold out, but the Penny Wide Leg is available in a ton of washes here. I wear a size 27 in this style.

Target High-Rise Sailor Wide Leg Ankle Jeans

I was shocked when I tried on these High-Rise Sailor Wide Leg Ankle Jeans from Target. The fit is perfect, the length is ideal for me (but will be cropped on most), and they come in many colors. They are a great dupe for the Pistola pair above, however the Pistola waistband is a smidge more comfortable. For under $30, you just can’t beat these. If you’re on the fence, I recommend sizing up one size in these.

What Shoes to Wear with Wide-Leg Jeans

Full-length, wide-leg jeans

Figuring out what shoes to wear with wide-leg pants is easier once you’ve identified whether your jeans are full-length or cropped. Full-length wide-leg jeans will cover most of your shoe (your toes may peep out), so the idea is to use the length of the jeans to make your legs look longer. I recommend a heel (platform or just a pump), heeled booties, or a tall boot. Before hemming your jeans, try them on with the heels in your closet. You want the pants hem to kiss the floor with your shoes on.

Because wide-leg jeans don’t show much of your body shape (apart from accentuating your waist), use them to give the illusion that your legs go for miles. Wearing flats or sandals is perfectly fine, too, but this won’t give you an elongated effect like heels (especially pointy-toed heels). I wear flats and sneakers with full-length wide-leg jeans often, but I make sure my jeans are hemmed so that they just barely hit the ground in this case. Here’s an example!

For easy reference, here are my recommendations for shoes to wear with full-length wide-leg jeans:

  • Heels
  • Pumps
  • Heeled booties
  • Tall boots with a heel
  • Sneakers
  • Ballet flats

Cropped wide-leg jeans

Cropped wide-leg jeans are a bit different than full-length jeans, which means you need to style differently. The hem hits above your ankle bone, which means your ankle and foot will show, so your shoe choice is more important. Since these won’t go all the way to the floor, they will not work to elongate your legs in the same way as a full-length pair, but they allow for your shoe choice to add interest to your outfit. I like to wear sandals, loafers, kitten heels, and even sneakers with cropped wide-leg jeans. Cropped jeans tend to feel more casual and laid back.

Here are my recommendations:

  • Sandals
  • Loafers
  • Ballet flats
  • Heeled booties (only if the hem of the pant covers a little bit of the bootie shaft)
  • Sneakers

Styling Wide Leg Jeans

Tucked-in Tee

A classic tee tucked into your wide-leg jeans is a no-fail look. The high waist of the jeans makes your waist look smaller, while the wider legs give a flattering balance. Since wide-leg jeans are interesting on their own, keeping the top simple is a great option. I love this BP Body Suit that I got from Nordstrom this summer. I don’t snap the bottom part, but I wear it like a regular top tucked in.

Structured Blazer

Want to make your wide-leg jeans office-friendly? Pair them with a tailored blazer. A structured blazer balances the flowy nature of the jeans and adds a polished, sophisticated touch. Wear a tucked-in blouse or fitted top underneath (that bodysuit from above is perfect), and finish the look with heels or sleek ankle boots. If you wear ankle boots, be sure that the shaft of the boot is covered at least partially by the jeans if they are cropped.

My favorite blazer for the fall is this Halogen One Button Blazer from Nordstrom.

Cropped Jackets or Sweaters

Because wide-leg jeans have so much volume, pairing them with a cropped jacket or sweater helps create a balanced silhouette. The shorter length of the top draws attention to your waistline and keeps your look from feeling too oversized. A chunky knit cropped sweater with wide-leg jeans is perfect for fall. My favorite chunky cropped sweater is this v-neck cable cropped sweater from Topshop.

Don’t Forget to Front-Tuck Longer Tops

If you have a sweater or blouse that is a little longer, you can still style it with wide-leg jeans. Just tuck the front part of your top into the front of the jeans to show the waistline. This is called a “French tuck,” and it’s the best way to wear longer tops with long pants while still giving your outfit some shape. A great options for this styling is this Topshop sweater from Nordstrom.

Bottom Line

Wide-leg jeans might feel like a bold choice at first, but with the right styling, they can be your go-to for all kinds of occasions. The key is balance—whether it’s pairing them with a fitted top, adding accessories, or playing with proportions. So don’t be afraid to experiment and make this trend your own. Happy styling!

Abercrombie and Fitch was the last brand I would have worn when I was young. The sizing was extremely small, even in my correct size (which was obviously not conducive to a healthy mindset for young girls), and the clothes were always on half-naked models. I always had a bad taste in my mouth about Abercrombie—without even mentioning the darkly lit store with a gallon’s worth of men’s cologne clinging to everything. You get it.

But I will say, that’s not how I feel anymore. I’m 40 years old, and I regularly shop at Abercrombie. Much of Abercrombie’s positive change can be attributed to its new female CEO, Fran Horowitz, who took over in 2017. Abercrombie & Fitch now has a brand new focus on inclusivity, diversity, and sizing that ranges much further, and their models are now…err… clothed.

Their jeans are what changed it all for me. I decided to try the jeans three years ago after seeing someone post about them on LTK, which I explained here. The verdict? OBSESSED. The short version fits my petite, 5’1″ frame without being tailored. I was shocked (and you can read all about my Abercrombie jeans try-on here). After my pleasant experience with Abercrombie jeans, I ordered a few other items to see if their clothes were as good as their jeans. Turns out they are! I now have multiple pieces from Abercrombie in my closet, and I’m constantly scouring their site for new arrivals. You can see a ton of my Abercrombie outfits linked in this collection on LTK.

In today’s post, I’m diving into the best Abercrombie essentials. I linked a few items I own and love, and others I’m eying. I’ll update this post throughout the season as Abercrombie gets new arrivals.

The 8 Best Abercrombie Basics (Must-Haves for Women)

1. Jeans

The Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jeans are what converted me to Abercrombie and they’re still my #1 pick in terms of A&F denim. They’re cute with almost any style of shoe (just skip tall boots), and they look great year-round. I originally ordered one distressed pair, and now I own multiple washes of the same jeans. They are $90 but go on sale all the time, which is a great deal compared to many jeans I own in the $175-$225 range. The Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight jeans were my gateway into Abercrombie jeans, and now I own many of their different denim styles.

I have a full review of Abercrombie jeans and the various styles here. If I were to recommend another pair as a closet essential, it would be their Stretch Flare jeans.

2. Tees

The perfect white tee can be so hard to find, but I’m always impressed by the basics I get at Abercrombie. The Essential Tuckable Baby Tee is the ideal slim-fitting white tee that is long enough to tuck into jeans. The Essential Polished Body-Skimming Tee is the world’s best cropped white tee, and the Essential Premium Polished Relaxed Tee is your classic relaxed-fit white tee that feels a bit more casual.

3. On-trend tops

While Abercrombie is the place to go for basics, they also have great on-trend tops. I’ve found some of my favorite blouses and button-downs from Abercrombie over the jeans. This fall, I’m eyeing the A&F Mara Tailored Vest Squareneck Set Top, the Oversized Linen-Blend Step Hem Shirt, and the Oversized Denim Shirt. While these aren’t quite “basics” like the tees linked above, they’re simple and can be worn in multiple ways but don’t break the bank, so if they aren’t on trend next year, no biggie.

4. Sweaters and Cardigans

I’m a huge fan of cardigans as tops these days. They’re also an excellent option for nursing moms like me. Abercrombie always has the best sweaters each fall, and this year is no exception. I just ordered the A&F Madeline Crew Sweater Tee in cream stripe, and I’m also eyeing the A&F Madeline Cotton-Blend Crew Sweater (simple and basic), the LuxeLoft Short-Sleeve Cardigan, AND the Textural Notch-Neck Sweater. See? So many good ones!

5. Athleisure

I was blown away by the athleisure I bought from Abercrombie last year. Everything fit well, and the quality is 10/10. They have some great pieces this fall. I’m currently eyeing the YPB neoKNIT Polo Sweatshirt in the mauvy-pink color (I own this already in a tan color), the YPB motionTEK Jogger (these come in a “short” length, which I appreciate being petite), and this YPB neoKNIT Relaxed Crew in the light blue stripes color. (I own it in yellow, and it’s the perfect weight and is as soft as my pricier Spanx Crew sweater.)

I also have my eyes on the YPB neoKNIT Unlined Polo Mini Dress since it’d be perfect for the golf course.

6. Casual Dresses

Abercrombie’s dress selection is always great. I find that their dressier options are typically better than their casual dresses, but I did find a few really cute options while scrolling the Abercrombie website. This A&F Mara Tweed Vest Mini Dress looks like a great fall office dress. The neckline isn’t too low and the tweed material gives it a polished feel. The A&F Mara Linen-Blend Asymmetrical Button Mini Dress is an excellent option for transitioning from summer to fall since it’s linen, and the Denim Shift Mini Dress is a classic fall staple that would look fantastic with tall boots or white sneakers.

7. Cocktail Dresses

This is where Abercrombie really shines. Their cocktail attire dresses are fun and flirty, but they aren’t too trendy or too “young” for this 40-year-old.

This classic Long-Sleeve Ruffle Hem Mini Dress would be the ideal fall cocktail attire dress to wear with a fun pair of platform heels, but it could also be dressed down with booties or tall boots. The shape is relaxed (great for maternity), and the sleeves make it the perfect option for cooler weather. The A&F Emerson Midi Dress is a classic Abercrombie staple. The prints change each season, but the cut is the same. I wore a version of this dress to a wedding this past year. This Draped Twist-Front Maxi Dress is such a sexy option for cocktail attire without being too revealing.

8. Outerwear

Last, but not least, is outerwear. Abercrombie’s blazers are great options for work attire, and the jackets are great, too. The Classic Suiting Blazer is a simple, single-breasted blazer with sleeve buttons, side pockets, and center-button closure. It comes in regular and petite sizing with a few color options. I’m eyeing the Collarless Sherpa Jacket for the fall and winter (wouldn’t it be so cute with jeans and ballet flats?), and I’m always on the hunt for a good wool coat, so this Double-Cloth Belted Wool-Blend Coat is in my cart.

Abercrombie Basics For Men

Tommy rarely shops and has had the same tops and bottoms for YEARS. Here are some items I’ve been eyeing for him to help freshen up his closet!

Abercrombie For Kids

I LOVE browsing the kids’ section when shopping to see if there’s anything worth adding to my order for Thomas. Abercrombie’s kid selection is for ages five and up, so if you have older kids, here are a few items I like! (My boys are 4 and 7 months so not quite there!)

Bottom Line

Abercrombie sells excellent wardrobe essentials, on-trend pieces, and seasonal items, so your outfits always feel fresh. Their quality is higher than Amazon The Drop (which I’ve also written about here).

While Amazon is my beloved online retailer for essential household items, their fashion selection didn’t catch my attention until a few years ago. But in the past few years, I’ve been blown away by some of the fashion brands that Amazon has started carrying, along with some of their own in-house brands that are stylish and high quality.

Over the past few years, I’ve shared lots of fashion picks from Amazon The Drop, but I haven’t ever explained why I love it so much and how it’s different from other styles on Amazon. So today, I’m explaining what The Drop on Amazon is because once you understand it, it’s kind of fun!

What is Amazon’s The Drop? (Everything you need to know!)

The Drop on Amazon started as a series of limited-edition collections created in collaboration with influencers and designers (kind of like the collabs that Target does with designers). These collections were typically very on-trend and available only for a short window (30 hours or so). Once the items sold out or the timeframe was up, the items were gone for good, making The Drop feel exclusive.

Now, Amazon’s The Drop is more than limited-edition collections. While it initially launched with influencer-designed collections, it now includes limited-edition items along with a more permanent line of wardrobe staples. These wardrobe essentials are always available for purchase (or at least for a longer period of time!). They still include items that are on trend (e.g, denim skirts, oversized denim shackets), but there are lots of classic styles as well.

How to Access Amazon The Drop?

Accessing Amazon The Drop is simple – just search for The Drop on Amazon.com and then click the Brand on any individual item, which will take you to the main Drop page. Or just click this link to access The Drop hub. On that page, you can see what collaborations they have with influencers, along with their line of items that are permanently available.

Is The Drop a Good Clothing Brand?

I’ve always been really happy with the fit and quality of the items. I own quite a few pieces from The Drop, and I’ve listed my favorites below with a few notes. In general, I like their pieces better than other Amazon finds and I’m quick to scoop up new things when they launch, since they do tend to sell out.

What About the Price?

The price of items from The Drop varies. The pricing is generally affordable, but once in a while, things can seem pricey if you’re used to $20 fashion on Amazon. However, I find the quality is more consistent with The Drop vs. the crapshoot you get when you randomly buy clothes on Amazon. (That’s part of why I share my Amazon finds via my newsletter each Sunday – to help you buy cute and decent quality items!)

Prime Try Before You Buy

Since The Drop is an in-house Amazon brand, there are a few Prime perks that apply. Prime Try Before You Buy is Amazon’s “on approval” program, where you can order clothes, have them shipped to you, try them on and decide if you want to buy or not, all before your card is ever charged.

  1. Choose your items. This can be clothing, shoes, accessories, etc. The items must be eligible for prime wardrobe, so you can look for that term in the description as you shop.
  2. You have seven days to try on your items and decide if you want to keep them.
  3. You pay only for what you keep. Just choose the most convenient shipping option for you. They’ll provide a return label. Remember that your items must be returned with tags ON and in their original packaging. They need to be unworn, unwashed, undamaged, etc. If your order comes in multiple packages, you can return your items with any packaging.

All Prime members can use Prime Try Before You Buy for free with their membership, and if you’re not a Prime member, you can try it for 30 days at any time.

Read more about Prime Try Before You Buy on this page.

My Favorite Items from Amazon’s The Drop

Britt Tiered Maxi Tent Dress

One of my favorite The Drop purchases to date is this Britt Tiered Maxi Tent Dress. I loved it so much that I ordered a second color, too. The fit is relaxed and breezy (perfect for warmer months), but the length makes it feminine and polished. I learned that I prefer longer dresses as a mom since I’m always bending down, and this dress became a staple in my closet last year for that reason.

Courtney Short-Sleeve Tiny Crewneck Jersey T-Shirt

I’m always on the hunt for the best white tees. This Courtney Short Sleeve Crewneck is such a good one for under $20. The fit is classic–not too fitted but not relaxed—just right. I have a size small, and it runs true to size.

Arhaan Denim Mini Skirt

I wasn’t sure I would get enough use out of a denim mini-skirt this summer, so I hesitated to invest in one from a designer denim brand. I decided to snag this Arhaan Denim Mini Skirt and have loved it! I appreciate that it’s long enough to feel appropriate for a mom, but it’s on trend and easy to style as well.

Blake Long Blazer

The Blake Long Blazer is a perfect work option that doesn’t break the bank. It comes in many colors and fits perfectly (I have an XS). I love the length for styling with jeans and dresses.

Valerie Cutaway-Neck Racerback Rib Knit Tank Top

This Valerie Cutaway-Neck Racerback Rib Knit Tank Top is the perfect high-neck tank. I ordered the white version a few years ago and got the black color this year. The quality is great, the fit is perfect, and the price is hard to beat. I wear a size small.

Yasmin Rib Midi Sweater Tank Dress

This Yasmin Dress was the first item I ever ordered from The Drop. It’s easy to style for the transition from summer to fall. You can wear it with sandals now and switch to sneakers or loafers as it gets cooler. Throw a denim jacket on top, and you’re all set.

Side Button Cropped Turtleneck Sweater

I got this Side Button Cropped Sweater a few years ago and love its versatility. If you look closely, you can see the buttons up the side of the sweater, and that simple detail makes it feel a little more high-end than a basic sweater. I got this in an XS, and it’s the perfect length for high-waisted or mid-rise jeans—not cropped, but not long.

Bottom Line

I can confidently say I’ve found some of my favorite go-to pieces from Amazon, and specifically The Drop. Amazon has truly stepped up its game. I recommend reading the reviews when you’re shopping, since that will help you make a confident decision on sizing – keep your eyes out for my weekly Amazon posts and join my newsletter here to get them sent right to your inbox! I’ll do the shopping for you :).

Tuckernuck’s Friends & Family Sale is LIVE! Use code FRIENDS to save more when you spend more.

If you looked back over my style throughout the last decade since moving from Utah to North Carolina, you would find that it has changed a lot. I think it’s very natural for style to evolve (with age and depending on where you live), and as I’ve lived in the South, I’ve become more drawn to feminine, preppy, colorful items– including shoes.

My favorite place to shop for shoes is Tuckernuck. I didn’t discover the brand until about 5 years ago, but since then, it’s the first place I look any time I want to refresh something in my closet. Tuckernuck is an online retailer that carries a bunch of different brands along with their own in-house line. The company was founded in 2012 by Jocelyn Moore Gailliot, Madeline Moore, and September Rinnier in a Georgetown garage, and it has grown into an incredibly popular online retailer since then.

Part of my full-time job is sourcing items for readers, so I spend a lot of time scrolling on Tuckenuck. I have a ton of Tuckernuck roundups linked here on the blog, so if you want to get a dress or blouse to pair with the shoes you find through this post, you can navigate to those roundups below.

In this post, I’ve compiled my favorite shoes from their pre-fall selection. I hope you find something you would love to add to your closet.

Tuckernuck Return Policy

Before we jump right in, I wanted to add a note about Tuckernuck’s return policy. You can return anything that is unworn and unwashed within 30 days of your purchase. Returns are free, so you can feel confident in whatever purchase you make. Since shoes are pricey and do require a try-on to know if they’ll be something you can wear, I appreciate this return window a lot.

10 Best Tuckernuck Shoes

1. Loeffler Randall Safari Gia Tall Boots

I wanted to add this pair of Loeffler Randall Safari Gia Tall Boots to the very top of this post, since they’ve been on my personal wishlist for years now (I have a few pair of Loeffler Randall shoes and they’re the most comfortable). I haven’t found anything that I like more (and trust me, I’ve tried). The heel height is ideal for my stage of life (busy mom chasing toddlers), but since they still have a little height, they have the more dressed-up look I’m going for when I want a pair of boots. I’ve discovered that I don’t love the look of flat boots on me, but I think this shorter heel is just perfect.

If you prefer a taller heel, Loeffler Randall makes a pair just like these with a 3.5-inch heel. If I weren’t in the same life stage, I think I’d prefer these to the Gia style.

You can get Loeffler Randall at a few different retailers, but I always try to order from Tuckernuck when possible because I love their customer service and return window.

2. Veja Extra White Emeraude Recife Sneakers

I’ve owned 3 different pairs of Veja sneakers and continue to re-buy them because I love them so much. They’re comfortable and practical when I need a casual fashion sneaker, and they last forever. The Extra White Emeraude Recife Sneakers are such a fun option for fall. I love the green “v” detail (but the other colorways are great too). I own the Recife style and wear them more often than the Campo or Esplar styles. The velcro is on-trend this fall. Since Veja comes in European sizing, be careful when you order. Be sure you know your size conversion.

I’ve had my eyes on the Isabel Marant Beth sneakers for years, and this velcro style from Veja scratches that itch without breaking the bank.

3. Tretorn Women’s Navy Nylite Canvas Sneakers

Another great pair of everyday fashion sneakers are the Nylite Canvas Sneakers by Tretorn. They’re lighter weight than the Veja pair and much more affordable. Since they’re canvas, they lend themselves a little more toward warm weather, but if you live in the south, you will still get months of wear out of them before winter. These required a little bit of breaking-in for me, but now they’re really comfortable.

4. Dolce Vita Mid Brown Pandro Heels

These brown Dolce Vita heels may not be the most practical shoe, but they are indeed the cutest fall heels I’ve seen so far. I love the light brown (almost caramel) color because it’s unique but still neutral. The upper is made of satin which makes them dressy and a great option for wearing to a fall wedding (speaking of, I have some very cute fall wedding guest dresses linked here).

Dolce Vita is typically very comfortable and always well-priced.

5. Loeffler Randall Platinum Lame Natalia Heels

I have to be fair, though. While the Dolce Vita Pandro heels are the cutest platform heels I’ve seen this year, this pair of Loeffler Randall Platinum Lame Natalia Heels was my favorite shoe purchase last fall. I already own them in black (and love them) and I noticed that there was a gap in my closet for a light-colored dressy heel, so I snagged these when they went on sale. This Natalia style is by far the most comfortable heel I own, and I can’t recommend them enough. While I don’t think you need both the Pandro heels and these Natalia heels since they’re both platforms, I do think you’d be justified if you decided too, ha!

6. Tuckernuck Brown Leather Marcy Heels

These Brown Leather Marcy Heels are part of Tuckernuck’s in-house brand. They come in a classic brown leather with a low (practical) heel. I always appreciate a heel strap, too, since it always makes heels feel more secure. The gold accents on the center strap add some fun interest and make them a great option for dressing up or down. When you think of a classic fall heel, these hit the mark. I’d style them with dresses and jeans.

7. Loeffler Randall Espresso Woven Leather Leonie Flats

I own a similar pair of ballet flats from Madewell that I’ve worn into the ground, so when I saw Loeffler Randall launch these Leonie flats, I added them to my wishlist. As I mentioned earlier, all of the Loeffler Randall shoes I own are shockingly comfortable, which has given me the Loeffler Randall bug. I want all of their shoes!

These Leonie flats are a classic ballet flat style with a fun woven upper. You can style them with jeans, dresses, skirts, you name it. I styled the Madewell pair I own with a midi skirt here, so you can get an idea of how they’d look.

8. Sam Edelman Black Brit Heels

I bought these Black Brit Heels last winter to wear with holiday cocktail dresses. I absolutely loved them, and that’s saying something since kitten heels aren’t usually my jam. I’ve always been a big fan of Sam Edelman shoes since they fit my feet incredibly well, and these Black Brit Heels are no different. They’re comfortable, simple (but with a little bit of pizazz), and easy to style with dresses and jeans into the cooler months.

9. French Sole Exclusive Foster Stud Sandals

Let’s talk about the Exclusive Foster Stud Sandals from Tuckernuck. They look almost identical to the Valentino Garavani Rockstud Caged 60mm Slide Sandals. Actually, I like the heel on the Tuckernuck pair better!

I love designer shoes, and I’ve always been drawn to studded heels when they’re tasteful. And you know what I say– if Tuckernuck carries them, they are my style. These are such a classic, iconic and loved style (truly loved around the world), and the French Sole brand is also known for comfort. I own these and another pair (French Sole Raffia Alibi Sandals) and can attest to that fact – they are truly so comfortable. These are the perfect heels to style with fall dresses or jeans. You might think these are too trendy to buy, but studded heels have been in for years, and I don’t foresee them going out anytime soon.

10. Schutz Exclusive Palha Fairy High Heels

While these Exclusive Palha Fairy High Heels do lend themselves to warmer weather because of the natural fiber, I wanted to include them in case you live somewhere like Florida, where you can get away with wearing them into the fall. These heels are comfortable and flattering on the foot. Unfortunately, Schutz shoes are too narrow for my foot, so I ended up returning them but only because of that.

I hope you find something that fits what you’re looking for!! If you want more outfit inspiration, be sure to follow me on LTK where I share my daily outfits, along with other shopping finds. For years, I didn’t think I was much of a jewelry girl. I felt silly and “overdone” when I wore it. I didn’t know how to style it (like what necklace is supposed to go with what top), so I never bought it. But in the last few years, I’ve realized that I do like jewelry – just not the jewelry everyone else is wearing: I preferred gold when everyone was wearing silver and liked dainty when chunky was in.

Once I started buying and wearing things that felt more natural to me, I fell in love with jewelry. When I found pieces that felt like “me,” I realized how much I loved the finishing touch of a nice piece of jewelry! Now, I don’t feel ready to leave the house until I have earrings and a necklace on (at the very least).

One of the brands that turned me into a jewelry fan was Mejuri. Years before I knew anything about the brand, I was gifted a pair of Mejuri earrings and instantly fell in love with the style and quality. Everything about their style (and business model) was right on target with my shopping habits. And so began my Mejuri obsession.

Now that I own a handful of Mejuri pieces, I thought it was time for a proper review. I had a lot of questions when I was learning about them, so hopefully this review will help answer some of those FAQs and also give you a little shopping inspiration. I vote to not wait for your significant other to buy you jewelry (and maybe buy the wrong kind you won’t wear). Pick it out yourself, buy it, and thank me later.

I also have a video review if you prefer to watch rather than read. You can also watch the same Mejuri review video on my YouTube channel if you prefer watching videos there.

Okay, let’s get right to it.

Mejuri Jewelry Review

Mejuri is a Canadian-based, direct-to-consumer jewelry company that makes fine and semi-fine pieces in a modern style. The idea behind the brand was to empower women to purchase jewelry because the co-founder and CEO, Noura Sakkijha, found that the jewelry industry was primarily focused on men gifting to women. The most impressive part? The pricing. I was blown away by the affordability of their products, especially considering the quality.

In short, Mejuri makes high-quality (fine and semi-fine…I’ll explain this below) jewelry that’s classic, dainty, and easy to wear every day at an attainable price point. Oh, and they make it all sustainably. There’s nothing not to love.

What Makes Mejuri Special?

Mejuri hits the park with affordability and timeless designs. Plus, they use sustainable practices (using recycled materials and traceable sources). It’s rare for me to find a brand that totally aligns with my personal style, especially when it comes to jewelry, but I love absolutely everything Mejuri makes.

Is Mejuri Good Quality?

Yes, it’s very high quality. Mejuri jewelry is fine (all gold) or semi-fine (gold-plated or gold-filled). Cheaper jewelry is typically just plated with a very thin layer of gold, which is why it tarnishes; it simply rubs off. Mejuri does have some plated items, but the plating is much thicker than that of cheaper brands, which helps prevent quick tarnishing. More on that below.

Does Mejuri Tarnish?

With proper care, no. But it also depends on the pieces you have. 14K solid gold jewelry is not prone to tarnishing or discoloration. However, the pieces made with gold vermeil (a thick layer of 18k solid gold on sterling silver) and sterling silver are prone to tarnishing. It’s more affordable since it’s plated vs. solid gold, but the downside is that it is more prone to tarnishing. These tips from the Mejuri website are helpful:

  • Vermeil will naturally tarnish over time, especially when exposed to environmental factors like air pollution, moisture, and items that contain sulfur.
  • Store in a safe, dry place—such as an anti-tarnish pouch or case—with the anti-tarnish strip that came with your purchase. This will help to protect your pieces when they are not being worn.

This care guide on Mejuri’s website explains how to properly care for your jewelry.

My experience with tarnishing:

I have had zero issues with tarnishing or discoloration with any of my pieces (including the gold vermeil ones), but I take my earrings and rings off when showering. However, I keep my bracelets on all the time.

I wouldn’t say I’m THE most careful with my jewelry (I leave my bracelets on 24/7, I don’t take my rings off when I wash my hands), but I don’t toss it around carelessly, either. Mejuri jewelry looks far newer than other brands of jewelry I own, even though most pieces are older.

How to clean gold vermeil jewelry:

Proactive maintenance is key. To keep tarnish from setting in, clean your pieces regularly by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth or using Mejuri’s Jewelry Care Kit (Brush & Spray).

Is Mejuri made with real diamonds?

Yes! Mejuri uses real (ethically sourced) diamonds and gemstones (and freshwater pearls). If it says it’s a natural diamond, it’s a natural diamond.

Mejuri is also made with sustainable and ethical materials (including their diamonds). They work with suppliers who are independently certified by recognized standards-getting organizations that focus on health and safety, human rights, fair labor, governance, and environmental protection (click here for more on Mejuri’s suppliers).

You will see a few lab-grown diamonds on their website as well, and those are noted in the name of each piece of jewelry.

How much does it cost?

It varies, depending on the piece, from under $100 to $495+. Mejuri has a wide range of price points and makes pieces with a wide range of materials. Given the quality of its products and the materials used, Mejuri is very affordable compared to what you’d pay for similar jewelry elsewhere. You’re getting the best quality without the mark-ups associated with traditional jewelry stores or other online retailers.

Is Mejuri real gold?

The 14K gold pieces are, indeed, real gold. And so is the 18k gold vermeil (although those pieces aren’t 100% gold, as I mentioned above). You’ll also see sterling silver, 18K gold vermeil, titanium, enamel, ceramic, ethically sourced diamonds, gemstones, and freshwater pearl pieces. The materials they use are the real deal.

Where is Mejuri gold from?

Most of Mejuri’s gold production is done in Arezzo, Italy. The team there works with designers, goldsmiths, and technicians. All of Mejuri’s production sources are listed on its website.

My Favorite Mejuri Jewelry

Here are the pieces I own and wear daily. I’ll also include a few items on my wishlist!

Rings

Pearl Slim Stacker Ring

I recently got this Pearl Slim Stacker Ring and love its simplicity. It’s around $150, and since it’s 14K yellow gold, it will last a lifetime. The stone size is 3mm and is just significant enough to catch your eye.

Pavé Diamond Slim Signet

I can’t get over how special this Pavé Diamond Slim Signet ring is. It’s not big, but it makes an impact because of the amount of pave diamonds set in the top. However, it doesn’t feel too fussy or dressy to wear every day. The carat weight is about 0.158 and the rest of the ring is 14K gold. For under $400, that is a steal.

Heirloom Ring with Topaz

The Heirloom Ring is different from what I typically go for, in terms of jewelry. I like very simple gold rings and rarely go for something with a big punch like this London Blue Topaz. But I loved this because of the vintage design. It’s not too much of a statement cocktail ring that annoys me when I wear it. I wanted to be able to wear it most days, and I’ll be able to style this ring in my everyday life easily. This is 14K gold and on the pricier end – around $650 – so be sure to use my link to save $65.

Woman wearing Mejuri rings
Mejuri Solo Diamond Ring

This thin gold band has a very small 0.05-carat round diamond set on the top. It’s dainty and feminine but easy to wear daily (which I do). It’s also small enough to work well as a stacking ring.

Mejuri Diamonds Line Ring

This gold band with pave diamonds lining the top is the other ring I wear almost daily. The diamonds on the top weigh about 0.0048 carats in total.

Mejuri Duo Ring

The fun thing about this Duo ring is that it’s actually two rings! They are interconnected and have such a fun criss-cross look. I love that one has ribbed detail and is smooth. Both rings are 14K solid gold.

Bold Diamond Half Eternity Ring

Tippy top of my Mejuri wishlist is this Bold Diamond Half Eternity Ring. I’d wear it with my engagement ring and wedding band, stacked alongside both. It’s made with 14K yellow gold and seven 2.5mm natural diamonds. It’s GORGEOUS.

Earrings

Mejuri Gold Huggies

These small gold huggie earrings are a little trendy, but they are also tasteful and classic. They’re small enough to wear daily (and I do wear them to Pilates some days), and they aren’t heavy, although they have a nice, high-quality feel and weight.

Mejuri Large Charlotte Hoops

When I want something with a little bit more impact, I wear these Large Charlotte Hoops. They’re bigger than the gold huggies above and have cute ridges that are inspired by french croissants. These are $128, making them a great gift option for birthdays or holidays. They are made in gold vermeil which is a thick 18k gold layer on sterling silver. Watch this video to see the size of the Charlotte Hoops.

Mejuri Large Croissant Dôme Hoops

While the Charlotte hoops above have a slight croissant look, nothing beats the Large Croissant Dôme Hoops. These are also made of gold vermeil. I love both pairs, but I don’t think you necessarily need both, since they’re so similar.

Wide Charlotte Hoops

These Wide Charlotte Hoops are from the same line as the Large Charlotte Hoops above. They both have the fun ribbed detail, but these are much chunkier and have a more “vintage feel”. They’re also made with gold vermeil. They look like they’d be heavy but they’re not, thankfully.

Woman wearing Wide Charlotte Hoops

Bold Pearl Huggies

I recently received these Bold Pearl Huggies as a gift and I think they’re such a fun way to dress up an otherwise plain earring. The pearl detail is just the right size and can be styled with anything in my closet. I love that they’re $88 because they feel like something I can wear more casually. These are made with gold vermeil.

Mejuri Diamond Mini Studs

I LOVE this pair of super tiny diamond studs from Mejuri. They’re tiny, about 0.06 carats each, so they aren’t flashy. They’re a great size to wear every day. If you have a second hole, these would be PERFECT.

Pavé Diamond Pear Studs

These earrings are also dainty but a little shinier (and a little more fun) than the mini studs. These Pave Pear Earrings have a bunch of tiny diamonds, a total of about 0.063ct. And they’re made with 14k solid gold.

Mejuri Pavé Diamond Round Studs

For something with a bit more impact, opt for the Pavé Diamond Round Studs. I love that they’re still small and dainty but have more surface area than the pear style above. These are made in a 14k solid gold set with 40 high-quality single-cut diamonds in a pavé setting weighing 0.11 carats total.

Bracelets

Mejuri Solo Diamond Bracelet

I love a dainty bracelet, and this Solo Diamond Bracelet is the best addition ever. First, who doesn’t want to add a diamond to their arm candy? Second, the price is SO good for a diamond. The carat weight is 0.065, and it’s under $250.

Mejuri Diamond Letter Bracelet

I also got this Diamond Letter Bracelet with a T on it for TeriLyn or Tommy or Thomas (sorry Charles, this was before you were born!), and it’s so fun. It’s a little larger than the Solo Diamond Bracelet, and the carat weight depends on the letter.

I wear both the letter bracelet and solo diamond bracelet as permanent bracelets and literally never take them off. So, if you want permanent bracelets but not the commitment, I can confirm they’re just as comfortable and durable as my permanent bracelets. (I have three permanent bracelets on my other wrist.)

Necklaces

If you want to see how the necklaces move and catch light, be sure to watch my YouTube video showing all of these Mejuri necklaces! The one con I’ve found in Mejuri’s necklaces is that their clasps are tiny and can be hard to use, especially if you have longer nails like me. But, given the dainty nature of most of their necklaces, it simply wouldn’t work aesthetically to have something bigger.

Another question I get when I share my Mejuri necklaces is, “Can I wear my Mejuri necklace in the shower?” and the answer is yes. I often leave my Mejuri necklaces on for days (especially since I struggle with the clasps!) and have two Mejuri bracelets that I haven’t taken off for months.

Pearl Letter Charm Necklace

The Pearl Letter Charm is gorgeous on its own, but I love it because it stacks really well. The initial pendant is small, and I love that it’s subtle while adding a fun pop. It’s been a while since I’ve worn pearls, so I’ve really enjoyed styling this! This also makes a great gift for a grandmother or a friend.

The initial pendant is sold just as a charm, so you can add it to an existing necklace or pick a chain from Mejuri. I have the Spheres Chain, which is 14k solid gold and comes in three lengths. I have a 16-18 inch length that lays right in the center of my chest at its most extended length. I typically layer it with a shorter necklace (shown with the Topaz necklace), but if I’m layering it with a longer necklace, I’ll wear the pearl letter + spheres chain at the shortest length.

Diamond Letter Charm

The Diamond Letter charm is similar to the pearl charm but a little smaller. It is 8mm, so it’s also a dainty size. It’s subtle but has a huge sparkle. I also love that the charm attaches to the chain asymmetrically. This makes an otherwise formal piece of jewelry feel like something you can wear every day. If you prefer bracelets to necklaces but love this charm, then you will love the Diamond Letter Bracelet.

I also wear this charm on the Spheres Chain.

Bold Letter Pendant Necklace

The next personalized option that I’ve been wearing nonstop is their Bold Letter Pendant Necklace. This pendant comes on a chain, so you do not need to buy the chain separately. The letter pendant itself is more substantial and bigger than the pearl and diamond letters. This is a really fun statement to wear with a V-neck top. The chain is a 20—to 22-inch cable chain, so it sits much lower than the chain above.

This necklace is made of Gold Vermeil which is a thick layer of 18k solid gold on sterling silver which means it lasts longer than just gold-plating. It also means the price tag is a little more affordable.

Pavé Diamond Linked Necklace

My jaw dropped when I saw the Pavé Diamond Linked Necklace in real life. It’s absolutely stunning. It features two interlinked rings to symbolize the strength of a personal bond. (I love that particular meaning if you’re gifting this to your mom, sister or best friend.) This necklace has pave diamonds lining one of the rings, weighing about 0.046 ct in total. The two rings are small, which makes this a beautiful and dainty everyday necklace.

This is the most expensive Mejuri necklace I own because it’s made with real diamonds and 14K gold. The chain is 16-18″ long.

This style also comes in a gold vermeil version without the pave diamonds for a more affordable option. It’s still the same classic style, but the gold vermeil option is a little larger and more prominent. I love both options!

Round Topaz Necklace

I’ve had this Round Topaz necklace for about a year, and I wear it ALL the time. It’s tiny and super shiny, making it a great layering necklace or a simple piece to finish off your outfit. Topaz looks similar to a diamond but it’s more affordable, making it a great gift option.

Woman wearing Mejuri Round Topaz Necklace

Small Diamond Necklace

This small diamond necklace is one of my very favorite everyday pieces. The diamond is small but still noticeable (0.05 ct) and it sits in a gold bezel setting. The bezel setting makes it feel more casual.

Mejuri Heart Pendant Necklace

I LOVE the heart charm necklace trend right now, and this Heart-Pendant Necklace is the perfect look that’s just a little more subtle. It’s made with gold vermeil, a thick layer of 18k solid gold on sterling silver. The price is also great for gifting (under $150). I own this and it’s even prettier in person.

Mejuri Boyfriend Bold Chain Necklace

As someone who loves to layer dainty jewelry, this Boyfriend Bold Chain Necklace is the perfect addition to my stack. It’s made of 14K gold, and the link thickness is only 0.4 mm (SO dainty)! You can wear this chain on its own or slide charms on and off it.

Is Mejuri worth it?

100% yes. This is one of those brands that I can’t stop talking about on social media or in real life. I genuinely am so happy with every purchase I’ve made, and I wear multiple pieces of Mejuri daily. I used to think spending $300 for an everyday ring was silly, but now I understand the value of investing in higher-quality jewelry that lasts. I’m sure I spent over $300 when buying $20-$40 rings over and over, only to have to replace them repeatedly. I also know I’m building a collection I’ll love for years.

Football season (er, tailgate season) is one of the most fun times of year here in the South. When I went to my first WFU game after moving to NC, it really struck me how incredibly dressed up all the college girls were. They go ALL out in dresses, perfect hair and cute accessories (see my favorite everyday jewelry linked here). I was a little shocked, especially coming from Utah, where you dress for warmth for most of the games. Jeans + a sweater or sweatshirt were the norm when I went to football games growing up… granted, that was 20 years ago!

But I definitely wondered for a while what to wear to a football game with a dressier dress code. So, if that’s you too, I’ve got a few classic and comfy outfits for those of you who are gearing up and dressing for games this fall.

While I’m not a die-hard football fan – especially since my alma mater is across the country (I attended Brigham Young University in Utah) — I do enjoy the festivities and excitement around fall football. My husband went to Appalachian State University and we have a place in Boone so we do watch ASU games and hope to attend some more games in person this year! And, since we live in Winston-Salem, we usually end up going to at least one Wake Forest University football game.

The looks in this post are all intentionally neutral so that you can accessorize them with your team colors. I always find that buying clothes for one specific use end up getting donated the next year. And honestly, I don’t want to wear a dark yellow top or dress to match ASU’s colors. So in this post, I’m sharing neutral (but still fun and easy to accessorize), tailgate-approved outfits that you can wear all throughout the fall, even when you’re nowhere near a football game.

What to Wear to a Football Game – cute outfits that are comfy & classic

What to wear to a football game when it’s hot: a neutral dress

When I’m thinking about getting dressed for a football game or tailgate, the easiest outfit idea I can think of is a black or white dress (at least if you’re wondering what to wear to a football game in hot weather!!). This is because a neutral dress is cute, lightweight, and every single team color I can think of will work with black or white, with the right accessories. Even if your team’s colors are navy and red, you can make white work. A solid color black or white dress is so versatile.

Two Options

I have two favorite dresses for this scenario. The first is this black ruffled tank dress. Mine is by Nation LTD. It’s sleeveless (so important for the south since it’s HOT here!), short but not too short, and looks great with sneakers. The name of the game is comfort, and this mini dress totally meets the standard. I also love that you can wear it throughout the rest of the fall with clogs, booties, a denim jacket or a sweater. I’ve had it for 2.5 years and worn it so much because it’s so versatile. The Nation dress is right over $100 and the quality is amazing.

The second dress I’ve really liked this season is by Amazon! This white mini dress with side cutouts may not seem like it would be pregnancy friendly (I was in my second trimester when I took the photos below), but it actually is! And the fact that it’s lined is a huge bonus. I have this in a size small and it fits true-to-size. It comes in SO many colors, so you could definitely get this in black or navy too.

You can see how I styled both for game days below. If we were going to App State or Wake Forest games this fall, I’d wear the black dress and gold jewelry to accessorize since both of their colors are black and gold. If I were going to a UNC Chapel Hill game, I’d wear the white dress and some light blue accessories — maybe this clear and light blue crossbody bag. Clemson fans in the house? This orange and clear purse is for you! I shared the rest of my favorite stadium approved bags in a separate blog post.

Linking a few other black and white dresses below:

Denim Shorts + Tank

Now let’s say it’s too hot for jeans but you’re just not one to wear a dress to a football game, denim shorts are the way to go! I actually wore jean shorts and a tank to an ASU game last year and accessorized with gold jewelry. It was practical, cute, and I didn’t sweat my clothes off. Like the two sections above, I prefer to go neutral for game-days, especially with jean shorts. A black or white tank is always the perfect option for me (that’s actually a bodysuit that I wear as a tank), and then a fun pair of earrings or a colorful belt bag finishes the look. You could, however, get a top that matches your teams colors too. Easy peasy!

My favorite pair of jean shorts are by Abercrombie, but since the season for denim shorts is almost over, they are almost fully sold out. My second favorite pair are the Agolde Parker Long shorts, and thankfully they are in stock. They’re expensive (for jean shorts at least), but they will last for years, they don’t show your booty, and they’re relaxed enough that they don’t squeeze your thighs. I’ll link a few other pairs below, but I HIGHLY recommend the Agolde pair if you’re a regular denim short wearer like me. The waist does run large (intentionally) so if you’re on the fence, I’d size down. They come in a ton of washes and hem styled (raw, distressed, finished, etc).

What to wear to a football game when it’s cold: black jeans

Now if you live somewhere cooler than Winston-Salem (lucky you), black jeans are a great option for game-day. They’re a little more interesting than basic blue denim, but you can style them a million ways. Similarly to the dresses above, I like to wear a neutral top, like this flutter sleeve tank, with my jeans and then accessorize with more color. Since I’m also very pro-sneakers when it comes to tailgating, my favorite crop of black jeans is a kick flare. This style is more on-trend than skinny jeans, but still flattering and fitted through the majority of the leg. I love that kick flare jeans show off your shoes and err on the more casual side.

Once it really gets cold, you can wear cute booties with these and throw on a black puffer cold with a team color beanie.

The pair I like best is a little pricey but SO worth the splurge — the Pistola Lennon High Rise Boot. They run true-to-size (I take my typical size 27) and have the perfect amount of stretch. You can sit in them all day without being uncomfortable, which is essential for football games!

I’m linking a handful of black jeans at difference price points below as well:

Sneakers

Next on the must-have list for game-day outfits is a comfortable pair of sneakers. Your cute football game outfit is a total failure if your feet hurt. You will walk a lot at a football game, unless you have VIP parking, and you’ll be so happy you wore sneakers as opposed to heeled boots or booties. I’m so thankful that cute fashion sneakers are trending right now because there are so many options to choose from.

My #1 pick for fashion sneakers is Vejas. I have three different pairs and love them all. They’re leather, so they’re a little dressier than you may imagine for sneakers, but they’re still comfortable and easy to wear all day. They look great with both jeans and dresses! Unfortunately, Vejas sell out super quickly, but Zappos has a handful of cute colors in stock.

Next on my list are New Balance 327 sneakers. These are also somewhat hard to find in different colors, but the price tag is better than Vejas. They are a little sportier than Vejas too, so they will be a great option for wearing with athleisure throughout the fall. You can also find lots of colors available in the 237 style, which is also super cute but a little wider.

A more affordable option is a pair of Tretorn sneakers. I got a pair from Tuckernuck this summer and love that they’re simple and lightweight. They don’t break the bank either.

Here are a handful of styles and colors I love:

A clear purse

Most college stadiums (and even professional sporting events and concert stadiums) are beginning to implement a clear bag policy, and while it can be really annoying to have to switch everything to a new purse, there are a TON of cute options available! I ordered one from Amazon that I actually wouldn’t recommend (the chain is WAY too long), but I found a handful of other bags with great reviews that I’m linking below. My assistant bought this clear bag from Amazon last year and loved it for football games.

I shared the rest of my favorite stadium approved bags in a separate blog post.

A belt bag

Even the stadiums that are implementing a clear bag policy usually allow very small non-clear bags, as well, so it’s time to break out those belt bags! I LOVE my belt bag for so many reasons, but it’s especially useful for a football game. It holds your phone, keys, wallet, and any other small necessity. It can stay on your body all day without bothering you, and you can get them in all sorts of colors (perfect for accessorizing for your team!). I have both the Lululemon belt bag and a lookalike from Amazon. So, I genuinely don’t think it makes sense to order the Lululemon one because the Amazon version is SO good. I have a full review comparing them both, but in short, just get the Amazon belt bag!

Team Accessories

Since we went neutral for the outfit itself, I thought it would be fun to share a handful of team specific accessories in case you want to jazz your look up. One of my favorite brands EVER makes the most gorgeous earrings in a ton of team colors.

I would LOVE to know who you cheer for! Let me know in the comments below!
