There is one thing though very important for Peruvian dads if the baby is a boy or it doesn’t even matter now a days if it’s a girl too you give that baby a jersey of the dad’s favorite soccer team! You’ll have the dad crying. It is tradition. They have jerseys in baby sizes

Hi Eve, congratulations on becoming an aunt! Most Peruvians give each other regular babyclothes and shoes for their newborns. There isn’t really a unique tradition involved for babyshowers. Or at least that is how it goes in Lima. Is your brother in law from Lima or the Andes or the jungle? They may have different customs there. If you let me know, we can check for you. Often, mothers give their baby girl golden earrings (little hoops or pearls) but since you sister is not Peruvian, this doesn’t really apply.
