Tuckernuck’s Friends & Family Sale is LIVE! Use code FRIENDS to save more when you spend more.

My style has changed a good bit over the last decade since I moved from Utah to North Carolina and also as I got a little older. Everyone’s style evolves over time, and in the last few years, I’ve especially started to love southern styles that are colorful, feminine, and slightly preppy. And since shopping and sourcing items for readers is part of my full-time gig here on the blog and Instagram, I spend lots of time scrolling through websites and scouring new arrivals to find great dresses, jeans, tops, shoes and accessories. (There are links below to some of those round-ups so you can find my current favorites in each category, plus a couple other popular fashion posts.)

One of my ALL time favorite fashion retailers is Tuckernuck. I discovered Tuckernuck only a few years ago, but since finding them, I’ve become rather loyal. It was started by friends Jocelyn Moore Gailliot, Madeline Moore, and September Rinnier in a Georgetown garage, and has been incredibly successful since their 2012 launch. The women started the company while hunting for unique gifts, clothes and accessories for the many weddings, baby showers, and dinner parties they were attending. They wanted an easier place to shop (specifically online) for things, since it was taking them hours to find what they were shopping for.

I’ve found that Tuckernuck is exactly that — an online boutique sourced so well that I want to order nearly every item they carry. They make shopping so easy because they only carry the best items from the best brands. They also have amazing hostess and wedding gifts on their website too. It’s truly a one-stop-shop. My favorite items from Tuckernuck are always dresses, though, since they’re an entire outfit all on their own. They have dresses at every price point, for every occasion.

12 Best Tuckernuck Dresses

Today I’m sharing a roundup of my favorite dresses from Tuckernuck for the fall, including casual day dresses, weddings, date nights and more.

1. Sandalwood Vivianne Crewneck Dress

Frrst up, the Sandalwood Vivianne Crewneck Dress. This is a perfectly simple, yet practical, fall dress. The shape is very classic: long sleeve, shift style with a relaxed fit. Yet it can be dressed up or down and accessorized in a ton of different ways. I ordered a size small in this and wish I had gotten an XS instead since the fit is definitely on the boxy side, but I am able to make it fit better with a belt – which adds some interest to the look anyway. I believe everyone needs a tan-colored sweater dress in their closet for fall.

2. Red Lyles Dress

This Red Lyles Dress is the ideal option for fall family photos, a fall wedding, or even holiday events. The red leans on the pinker side which is beautiful, and the fit is shockingly good, even without the belt. Maxi dresses can swallow my petite frame, but this fits perfect. I went with an XS since I knew the fit was relaxed. I recommend sizing down if you’re on the fence. Since the belt is removable, it works for maternity as well.

3. Navy Knit Striped Frenchie Dress

This Navy Knit Striped Frenchie Dress is one of my favorite purchases from last year that I’ve already started wearing again this fall. It’s boxy but not oversized or sloppy. It’s made with 100% cotton but has a luxe knit feel and can easily be worn into the fall.

4. Chambray Callahan Shirt Dress

I love the fit of the Chambray oversized shirt dress. I’m wearing an XS, and it’s relaxed (especially in the back), but still flattering. Many oversized dresses can look like a tent, especially on my petite 5’1″ frame, but this one still looks polished and put together.

However, the material is sheer (well, just in the chambray colorway…not every color!), so I tend to wear a skirt slip underneath (or Amazon biker shorts which I like to wear when I’m chasing my son around in a dress). The material is not super soft when it first arrives, but it’s softened with a few wears. And it has pockets!

I love this dress because it can easily be worn from summer to fall. The sleeves give it that fall “feel”, but the material is lightweight and easy to wear on lingering warm days. It’s also one of my favorite dresses to wear to church. (This post has more ideas about what to wear to church.) Be sure to look at this listing of the fall Callahan colorways – especially the “winetasting” color.

5. Chloe Dress

I got the Chloe Dress in a recent summer order and WOW I’m in love. I feel like Jackie O whenever I put it on. It’s the perfect blend of sophisticated and polished, but the color and pockets make it fun and easy to wear. It’s the ideal dress for dressy events like a graduation ceremony, special church service, work lunch, etc. I love having something like this in my closet for events where a sundress just doesn’t cut it. While the lilac color is on the warm weather side, the Chloe dress comes in a TON of fall and winter colors. The shape is so functional for all seasons, and so is the fabric. For the fall, I’d go for the navy.

The chest of this dress is snug, so I sized up to a small to account for my bustier chest due to breastfeeding. Keep that in mind when choosing your sizing.

6. Tweed Jackie Dress

If you work in an office, the Tweed Jackie Dress needs to be in your cart. The braided color, gold buttons, and tweed material make the most polished, luxe work dress I’ve ever seen. This would also be perfect for church. I love that it comes in a bunch of colors that can all be worn with nude pumps.

7. Nightly Organza Palmerston Dress

I ordered the Nightly Organza Palmerston Dress as a holiday cocktail attire dress last winter when I was pregnant. I love having a fun yet conservative option in my closet for events. The fit is relaxed, so there is plenty of room for a bump, but it’s not maternity specific.

8. Royal Shirt Dress

I got this Royal Shirt Dress early in the spring two years ago in a cobalt blue (sadly, no longer available), but comes in so many other great colors. It’s ideal for business casual work wear, church, or just to wear for daily mom life. The three-quarters length sleeves and button down front feel very polished, but the boxy fit keep it casual and comfortable. The material is silky smooth stretch cotton sateen fabric and doesn’t wrinkle easily. And yes, it has pockets.

This dress comes in seven colorways. The solid colors are great for professional settings, but the floral patterns are so tempting. The length is a little long on me, so I got it altered shortly after getting it. (The picture below is pre-hemming.) Keep in mind I’m 5’1″, so if you’re a little taller, it may not need any hemming, and it runs TTS. This dress is right around $200, so it’s an investment, but a worthy one considering how much wear you could get out of it for years to come. It’s a timeless style.

I’ve worn this dress many ways: heels, sandals, and even white sneakers (I favor these Veja sneakers). Throw a baseball cap on, and you’re ready for your kids’ sporting events right after work.

9. Denim Trapunto Stitch Sofia Shirt Dress

I love a denim dress for the fall, and this Denim Trapunto Stitch Sofia Shirt Dress is a perfect feminine take. The A slightly boxy silhouette and drop shoulders gives it a polished but playful look. Denim can be worn practically year-round, but it’s just perfect in the fall.

10. Winter White Corduroy Clifton Dress

Nothing feels more fall than a creamy white dress, right? This Winter White Corduroy Clifton Dress is the ideal fall work dress with the stand up collar, 3/4 length sleeves, and a-line silhouette. It comes in a ton of colors, but the winter white is calling my name. I love how the model has it styled with tall brown boots.

11. Black Milla Dress

I LOVE the Black Milla Dress. Anything double-breasted is right up my alley, and the notched lapel collar sends it over the top. While it might feel a little bit bold to wear a trench-style dress, it’s actually incredibly easy to style! Throw on a pair of flats or pumps and you’re ready for a work event. I got a similar dress from the Nordstrom Sale this past year and get compliments each time I wear it.

12. Exclusive Chocolate One Shoulder Maxi Dress

I saw this Exclusive Chocolate One Shoulder Maxi Dress a few weeks ago and thought it would be gorgeous for a fall wedding – so I added it to this fall wedding guest dresses roundup. I love the one shoulder look and the color – both feel lightweight and airy enough to wear in the early fall while it’s still warm, but it’s totally appropriate for a later fall wedding too.

I hope you find a dress or two you love! You may also find these posts helpful:

Over the years, I’ve tried jeans from about 30 different brands. (I once tried 15 brands just to find the perfect pair of white skinny jeans.) And while I don’t think I’ll ever be totally done shopping for jeans, I have landed on a few brands that I LOVE and order from year after year.

One of my go-to brands for jeans is Madewell. They have a cult following for good reason. They carry so many styles, every size under the rainbow (they’re extremely size-inclusive and have tons of great curvy jeans), multiple rises for each pair, petite and tall lengths, and tons of washes. If you can drop by in person at one of their stores, be sure to visit the Madewell Denim Bar, which has an extensive selection to try on.

With so many options, however, it can be challenging to figure out which ones are best, especially if you shop online. So, in today’s post, I’m sharing a roundup of the best Madewell jeans and my thoughts about them. Hopefully, this helps you narrow down your favorites or find a new pair to love!

Madewell Jeans Size Guide

First, let’s go through some sizing information so that you know exactly what size get when you place your order. Madewell is extremely size inclusive with options ranging from size 23 to 33, 14W to 28W, and three inseams: Petite, Plus, Standard, and Tall.

Do Madewell Jeans Run True-To-Size?

In my experience, Madewell jeans fit exactly as described on the website. Some of the styles are designed to sit low on your hips with a relaxed, baggy feel, and when that’s the case, Madewell notes it and suggests sizing down for a closer fit. They also include fit notes if they receive feedback that the jeans run small or large based on reviews.

Madewell has an entire page on its site dedicated to a “denim fit guide,” where you can read about the fabric and materials of each pair of jeans. It walks through the different stretch options and the difference between the regular and curvy fit and teaches you exactly how to measure yourself for your jeans. It goes above and beyond to make sure you feel confident with your sizing choice.

If you want someone to walk you through the sizing options, check out Madewell’s virtual styling option.

Madewell Virtual Stylists

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen from a brand. Madewell offers the option to book a video call with one of their stylists to talk through all things sizing. The appointment is complimentary and you actually earn 250 points (which translates to $10) for each appointment that you attend. How cool is that?? Read more about this styling option here.

The 6 Best Madewell Jeans

1. The Perfect Vintage Jean

The Perfect Vintage Jean from Madewell is what I call my OG pair of Madewell jeans, even though I had a few pairs before these. They were my gateway into non-skinny jeans and the first pair of straight-leg/mom jeans that looked good on my petite frames (I’m 5″1 and was hesitant to try them).

This pair is a great option for women looking for a style other than skinny jeans. Think of them like an “intro pair.” They’re snug and flattering on the bum and through the hips and thighs, but they get looser at the bottom, giving them a more relaxed feel. They’re cropped slightly above the ankle (key for cropped pants) and high-waisted. Win-win-win!

I’m petite (5’1″), so I ordered the petite length (they have petite, regular, tall, and plus-sized options) in a size 26. I wish I had sized down in these, since they stretched out over time. This pair has a slight stretch to them, which makes them very comfortable for all-day wear, but they don’t hold their structure as well as a pair of jeans that are 100% denim. I recommend washing and drying this pair often to shrink them back after each wear. It’s a matter of preference, but I like to have a few pairs of jeans with stretch and a few without. Since I wear them practically non-stop year-round, I like options.

The Perfect Vintage Jeans are available directly from Madewell and are currently on sale!

The photos below are from a few years ago, and the wash of the Perfect Vintage Jeans I’m wearing below is no longer made. The pair linked above (the berdelle wash) has the most similar coloring.

I style them with sneakers, sandals, and heels.

2. Kick Out Crop Jeans

These used to be called the Cali Demi-Boot jeans, but what does that even mean? I’m thankful they’ve changed the name to something that makes more sense: Kick Out Crop. These are cropped jeans with a tiny flare at the ends. They’re flattering with all sorts of shoes because they show your ankle a bit, and the wider bottom balances slightly chunkier shoes, like sneakers.

Madewell makes many variations of this style, and I own the Pure White wash in the Kick Out Crop. I wore them throughout the spring and summer and can’t say enough great things about them. In the photos below, I am wearing a size 25 Petite, and they are a perfect fit.

This cut is a little trendier right now, for good reason! Skinny jeans are classic, but this new cropped style is flattering, especially for someone petite. The Pure White wash (which is what I have) is the perfect shade of white: not too tight, not too loose, not too thin, and also not see-through. If you are petite (5’4″ and below), I suggest the petite inseam. I like my cropped straight-leg jeans to hit above my ankle.

3. The Darted Barrel-Leg Jean

New this year to Madewell’s denim selection is the Darted Barrel-Leg Jean. Barrel-style jeans are a big trend this fall – they give the illusion of bowed legs and have a relaxed, casual fit. While I was unsure about the barrel-leg trend on my petite frame, I ordered these jeans as soon as my size became available. I particularly love that the barrel fit is much more subdued than some other options at different retailers this fall. The leg isn’t super wide, but it does have the arched look that I was going for. Since these come in a petite fit, I knew they’d be my most flattering barrel jeans option. Photos to come, as soon as these arrive!

4. Stovepipe Jeans

If you’re looking for a not-skinny-but-not-straight pair of jeans, the Stovepipe jeans from Madewell are a great option. They have a fitted leg and bum, but the ankle is slightly looser, which gives them a polished, tailored look. I don’t own this style yet. However, I want to snag a pair to style with loafers and flats since the Kick Flare can feel a little too playful at times. The Stovepipe jeans look great with flats.

There are a ton of different fits of the Stovepipe style. However, I love the basic Stovepipe Jean black rinse.

5. The ’90s Straight Jean

Next on my wishlist is the Madewell The ’90s Straight Jean. I have a pair of ’90s Straight Jeans from Abercrombie that I absolutely love. See photos in this Abercrombie Jeans Review I shared. So, I want to see how these compare. When I first tried this style from Abercrombie, I wasn’t sure how to style the full-length jeans with such a relaxed feel, but now I love them!

You wear the exact same shoes you normally would. Then, you just have to get over the mental hump of them looking a little different than you’re used to. They are a fun trend that’s coming back, and I’m here for it. Madewell’s ’90s Straight Jean comes in a ton of washes and fits. However, the pair I’m eyeing is the cream colored Vintage Canvas. I love white jeans in the spring and summer, but my Pure White washes feel a little bright for the winter. This cream-colored pair is the ideal winter white!

6. The Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jean

I can’t wait to get a pair of wide-leg trouser style jeans! The Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jean is my favorite Madewell version, especially the Lavaca Wash with the patch front pockets.

This style is not cropped, which means you’ll want to pair them with shoes that allow the hem to “kiss” the floor. I typically wear heels when I style wide-leg full-length jeans, but every once in a while, I’ll wear sneakers or flats. The key is to hem the jeans to just barely touch the floor in the shoes you’ll wear most often. Read more about how to style wide-leg jeans in this blog post.

Abercrombie and Fitch was the last brand I would have worn when I was young. The sizing was extremely small, even in my correct size (which was obviously not conducive to a healthy mindset for young girls), and the clothes were always on half-naked models. I always had a bad taste in my mouth about Abercrombie—without even mentioning the darkly lit store with a gallon’s worth of men’s cologne clinging to everything. You get it.

But I will say, that’s not how I feel anymore. I’m 40 years old, and I regularly shop at Abercrombie. Much of Abercrombie’s positive change can be attributed to its new female CEO, Fran Horowitz, who took over in 2017. Abercrombie & Fitch now has a brand new focus on inclusivity, diversity, and sizing that ranges much further, and their models are now…err… clothed.

Their jeans are what changed it all for me. I decided to try the jeans three years ago after seeing someone post about them on LTK, which I explained here. The verdict? OBSESSED. The short version fits my petite, 5’1″ frame without being tailored. I was shocked (and you can read all about my Abercrombie jeans try-on here). After my pleasant experience with Abercrombie jeans, I ordered a few other items to see if their clothes were as good as their jeans. Turns out they are! I now have multiple pieces from Abercrombie in my closet, and I’m constantly scouring their site for new arrivals. You can see a ton of my Abercrombie outfits linked in this collection on LTK.

In today’s post, I’m diving into the best Abercrombie essentials. I linked a few items I own and love, and others I’m eying. I’ll update this post throughout the season as Abercrombie gets new arrivals.

The 8 Best Abercrombie Basics (Must-Haves for Women)

1. Jeans

The Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jeans are what converted me to Abercrombie and they’re still my #1 pick in terms of A&F denim. They’re cute with almost any style of shoe (just skip tall boots), and they look great year-round. I originally ordered one distressed pair, and now I own multiple washes of the same jeans. They are $90 but go on sale all the time, which is a great deal compared to many jeans I own in the $175-$225 range. The Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight jeans were my gateway into Abercrombie jeans, and now I own many of their different denim styles.

I have a full review of Abercrombie jeans and the various styles here. If I were to recommend another pair as a closet essential, it would be their Stretch Flare jeans.

2. Tees

The perfect white tee can be so hard to find, but I’m always impressed by the basics I get at Abercrombie. The Essential Tuckable Baby Tee is the ideal slim-fitting white tee that is long enough to tuck into jeans. The Essential Polished Body-Skimming Tee is the world’s best cropped white tee, and the Essential Premium Polished Relaxed Tee is your classic relaxed-fit white tee that feels a bit more casual.

3. On-trend tops

While Abercrombie is the place to go for basics, they also have great on-trend tops. I’ve found some of my favorite blouses and button-downs from Abercrombie over the jeans. This fall, I’m eyeing the A&F Mara Tailored Vest Squareneck Set Top, the Oversized Linen-Blend Step Hem Shirt, and the Oversized Denim Shirt. While these aren’t quite “basics” like the tees linked above, they’re simple and can be worn in multiple ways but don’t break the bank, so if they aren’t on trend next year, no biggie.

4. Sweaters and Cardigans

I’m a huge fan of cardigans as tops these days. They’re also an excellent option for nursing moms like me. Abercrombie always has the best sweaters each fall, and this year is no exception. I just ordered the A&F Madeline Crew Sweater Tee in cream stripe, and I’m also eyeing the A&F Madeline Cotton-Blend Crew Sweater (simple and basic), the LuxeLoft Short-Sleeve Cardigan, AND the Textural Notch-Neck Sweater. See? So many good ones!

5. Athleisure

I was blown away by the athleisure I bought from Abercrombie last year. Everything fit well, and the quality is 10/10. They have some great pieces this fall. I’m currently eyeing the YPB neoKNIT Polo Sweatshirt in the mauvy-pink color (I own this already in a tan color), the YPB motionTEK Jogger (these come in a “short” length, which I appreciate being petite), and this YPB neoKNIT Relaxed Crew in the light blue stripes color. (I own it in yellow, and it’s the perfect weight and is as soft as my pricier Spanx Crew sweater.)

I also have my eyes on the YPB neoKNIT Unlined Polo Mini Dress since it’d be perfect for the golf course.

6. Casual Dresses

Abercrombie’s dress selection is always great. I find that their dressier options are typically better than their casual dresses, but I did find a few really cute options while scrolling the Abercrombie website. This A&F Mara Tweed Vest Mini Dress looks like a great fall office dress. The neckline isn’t too low and the tweed material gives it a polished feel. The A&F Mara Linen-Blend Asymmetrical Button Mini Dress is an excellent option for transitioning from summer to fall since it’s linen, and the Denim Shift Mini Dress is a classic fall staple that would look fantastic with tall boots or white sneakers.

7. Cocktail Dresses

This is where Abercrombie really shines. Their cocktail attire dresses are fun and flirty, but they aren’t too trendy or too “young” for this 40-year-old.

This classic Long-Sleeve Ruffle Hem Mini Dress would be the ideal fall cocktail attire dress to wear with a fun pair of platform heels, but it could also be dressed down with booties or tall boots. The shape is relaxed (great for maternity), and the sleeves make it the perfect option for cooler weather. The A&F Emerson Midi Dress is a classic Abercrombie staple. The prints change each season, but the cut is the same. I wore a version of this dress to a wedding this past year. This Draped Twist-Front Maxi Dress is such a sexy option for cocktail attire without being too revealing.

8. Outerwear

Last, but not least, is outerwear. Abercrombie’s blazers are great options for work attire, and the jackets are great, too. The Classic Suiting Blazer is a simple, single-breasted blazer with sleeve buttons, side pockets, and center-button closure. It comes in regular and petite sizing with a few color options. I’m eyeing the Collarless Sherpa Jacket for the fall and winter (wouldn’t it be so cute with jeans and ballet flats?), and I’m always on the hunt for a good wool coat, so this Double-Cloth Belted Wool-Blend Coat is in my cart.

Abercrombie Basics For Men

Tommy rarely shops and has had the same tops and bottoms for YEARS. Here are some items I’ve been eyeing for him to help freshen up his closet!

Abercrombie For Kids

I LOVE browsing the kids’ section when shopping to see if there’s anything worth adding to my order for Thomas. Abercrombie’s kid selection is for ages five and up, so if you have older kids, here are a few items I like! (My boys are 4 and 7 months so not quite there!)

Bottom Line

Abercrombie sells excellent wardrobe essentials, on-trend pieces, and seasonal items, so your outfits always feel fresh. Their quality is higher than Amazon The Drop (which I’ve also written about here).

Tuckernuck’s Friends & Family Sale is LIVE! Use code FRIENDS to save more when you spend more.

If you looked back over my style throughout the last decade since moving from Utah to North Carolina, you would find that it has changed a lot. I think it’s very natural for style to evolve (with age and depending on where you live), and as I’ve lived in the South, I’ve become more drawn to feminine, preppy, colorful items– including shoes.

My favorite place to shop for shoes is Tuckernuck. I didn’t discover the brand until about 5 years ago, but since then, it’s the first place I look any time I want to refresh something in my closet. Tuckernuck is an online retailer that carries a bunch of different brands along with their own in-house line. The company was founded in 2012 by Jocelyn Moore Gailliot, Madeline Moore, and September Rinnier in a Georgetown garage, and it has grown into an incredibly popular online retailer since then.

Part of my full-time job is sourcing items for readers, so I spend a lot of time scrolling on Tuckenuck. I have a ton of Tuckernuck roundups linked here on the blog, so if you want to get a dress or blouse to pair with the shoes you find through this post, you can navigate to those roundups below.

In this post, I’ve compiled my favorite shoes from their pre-fall selection. I hope you find something you would love to add to your closet.

Tuckernuck Return Policy

Before we jump right in, I wanted to add a note about Tuckernuck’s return policy. You can return anything that is unworn and unwashed within 30 days of your purchase. Returns are free, so you can feel confident in whatever purchase you make. Since shoes are pricey and do require a try-on to know if they’ll be something you can wear, I appreciate this return window a lot.

10 Best Tuckernuck Shoes

1. Loeffler Randall Safari Gia Tall Boots

I wanted to add this pair of Loeffler Randall Safari Gia Tall Boots to the very top of this post, since they’ve been on my personal wishlist for years now (I have a few pair of Loeffler Randall shoes and they’re the most comfortable). I haven’t found anything that I like more (and trust me, I’ve tried). The heel height is ideal for my stage of life (busy mom chasing toddlers), but since they still have a little height, they have the more dressed-up look I’m going for when I want a pair of boots. I’ve discovered that I don’t love the look of flat boots on me, but I think this shorter heel is just perfect.

If you prefer a taller heel, Loeffler Randall makes a pair just like these with a 3.5-inch heel. If I weren’t in the same life stage, I think I’d prefer these to the Gia style.

You can get Loeffler Randall at a few different retailers, but I always try to order from Tuckernuck when possible because I love their customer service and return window.

2. Veja Extra White Emeraude Recife Sneakers

I’ve owned 3 different pairs of Veja sneakers and continue to re-buy them because I love them so much. They’re comfortable and practical when I need a casual fashion sneaker, and they last forever. The Extra White Emeraude Recife Sneakers are such a fun option for fall. I love the green “v” detail (but the other colorways are great too). I own the Recife style and wear them more often than the Campo or Esplar styles. The velcro is on-trend this fall. Since Veja comes in European sizing, be careful when you order. Be sure you know your size conversion.

I’ve had my eyes on the Isabel Marant Beth sneakers for years, and this velcro style from Veja scratches that itch without breaking the bank.

3. Tretorn Women’s Navy Nylite Canvas Sneakers

Another great pair of everyday fashion sneakers are the Nylite Canvas Sneakers by Tretorn. They’re lighter weight than the Veja pair and much more affordable. Since they’re canvas, they lend themselves a little more toward warm weather, but if you live in the south, you will still get months of wear out of them before winter. These required a little bit of breaking-in for me, but now they’re really comfortable.

4. Dolce Vita Mid Brown Pandro Heels

These brown Dolce Vita heels may not be the most practical shoe, but they are indeed the cutest fall heels I’ve seen so far. I love the light brown (almost caramel) color because it’s unique but still neutral. The upper is made of satin which makes them dressy and a great option for wearing to a fall wedding (speaking of, I have some very cute fall wedding guest dresses linked here).

Dolce Vita is typically very comfortable and always well-priced.

5. Loeffler Randall Platinum Lame Natalia Heels

I have to be fair, though. While the Dolce Vita Pandro heels are the cutest platform heels I’ve seen this year, this pair of Loeffler Randall Platinum Lame Natalia Heels was my favorite shoe purchase last fall. I already own them in black (and love them) and I noticed that there was a gap in my closet for a light-colored dressy heel, so I snagged these when they went on sale. This Natalia style is by far the most comfortable heel I own, and I can’t recommend them enough. While I don’t think you need both the Pandro heels and these Natalia heels since they’re both platforms, I do think you’d be justified if you decided too, ha!

6. Tuckernuck Brown Leather Marcy Heels

These Brown Leather Marcy Heels are part of Tuckernuck’s in-house brand. They come in a classic brown leather with a low (practical) heel. I always appreciate a heel strap, too, since it always makes heels feel more secure. The gold accents on the center strap add some fun interest and make them a great option for dressing up or down. When you think of a classic fall heel, these hit the mark. I’d style them with dresses and jeans.

7. Loeffler Randall Espresso Woven Leather Leonie Flats

I own a similar pair of ballet flats from Madewell that I’ve worn into the ground, so when I saw Loeffler Randall launch these Leonie flats, I added them to my wishlist. As I mentioned earlier, all of the Loeffler Randall shoes I own are shockingly comfortable, which has given me the Loeffler Randall bug. I want all of their shoes!

These Leonie flats are a classic ballet flat style with a fun woven upper. You can style them with jeans, dresses, skirts, you name it. I styled the Madewell pair I own with a midi skirt here, so you can get an idea of how they’d look.

8. Sam Edelman Black Brit Heels

I bought these Black Brit Heels last winter to wear with holiday cocktail dresses. I absolutely loved them, and that’s saying something since kitten heels aren’t usually my jam. I’ve always been a big fan of Sam Edelman shoes since they fit my feet incredibly well, and these Black Brit Heels are no different. They’re comfortable, simple (but with a little bit of pizazz), and easy to style with dresses and jeans into the cooler months.

9. French Sole Exclusive Foster Stud Sandals

Let’s talk about the Exclusive Foster Stud Sandals from Tuckernuck. They look almost identical to the Valentino Garavani Rockstud Caged 60mm Slide Sandals. Actually, I like the heel on the Tuckernuck pair better!

I love designer shoes, and I’ve always been drawn to studded heels when they’re tasteful. And you know what I say– if Tuckernuck carries them, they are my style. These are such a classic, iconic and loved style (truly loved around the world), and the French Sole brand is also known for comfort. I own these and another pair (French Sole Raffia Alibi Sandals) and can attest to that fact – they are truly so comfortable. These are the perfect heels to style with fall dresses or jeans. You might think these are too trendy to buy, but studded heels have been in for years, and I don’t foresee them going out anytime soon.

10. Schutz Exclusive Palha Fairy High Heels

While these Exclusive Palha Fairy High Heels do lend themselves to warmer weather because of the natural fiber, I wanted to include them in case you live somewhere like Florida, where you can get away with wearing them into the fall. These heels are comfortable and flattering on the foot. Unfortunately, Schutz shoes are too narrow for my foot, so I ended up returning them but only because of that.

Whether you’re attending a beach wedding or a black tie affair, I’ve got you covered with beautiful dresses to wear to weddings in the fall, all under $150. My goal is always to find wedding guest dresses that are timeless (so you won’t wear them just once!) and don’t break the bank. I hope this post helps you find something you love.

Dresses to Wear to Weddings in the Fall (12 options under $150)

I’m including a mix of formal and cocktail-style dresses below for a wide range of wedding dress codes, and you can read about all the different wedding attires and when to wear what in my What to Wear to a Wedding blog post. Almost every dress below could be worn to multiple styles of weddings. The only exceptions are the blue Lulu’s dress, which I shared first (that’s definitely more formal/black tie than cocktail) and the navy gown from Amazon.

I have a second blog post with my favorite wedding guest dresses from Nordstrom linked here. I love shopping at Nordstrom because of the free shipping and amazing return policy, and if you feel the same, you’ll love that post.

Lulus Poised Performance Blue Plisse One-Shoulder Maxi Dress

I ordered this blue one-shoulder maxi dress for this post because I wanted to see if it was truly formal enough for a black tie. I think it’s perfect! The color is gorgeous, especially in person, and the material has a dressy sheen that I love for a formal event. The one-shoulder look is very popular this year, and I appreciate that this option has such a nice side slit that makes walking (and dancing!) easy. It’s under $100 too, which is hard to beat. I styled this dress three different ways below: black shoes + and a black clutch (linked a similar option, as mine is sold out), gold platforms + gold clutch, and nude heels + a matching clutch (mine is sold out so I linked a similar option).

Exclusive Chocolate One-Shoulder Maxi Dress

Next on the list is this Chocolate One Shoulder Maxi Dress that’s exclusive to Tuckernuck. The color is ideal for a fall wedding, and so is the sheen of the fabric. It’s a blend of Lyocell and Polyester, which gives it a sort of shiny, but not too shiny, look that is great for a dressy event. I love the one-shoulder style for fall since it works perfectly for the slightly cooler weather and still feels sexy with one arm showing. The cutout on the side is tasteful but fun, and the length is great for a cocktail attire wedding.

I would style this dress with either nude, gold, platinum, or brown heels and a matching clutch. I own these heels in black, and they’re wildly comfortable. Since the asymmetrical top is a moment on its own, stay away from necklaces and opt for gold earrings instead.

Chelsea28 Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress

I bought this Chelsea28 Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress during this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary sale since I have two weddings coming up this fall. It fits so well and looks SO good in person. The length is great for any wedding attire: cocktail, formal, and even black tie with close-toed shoes. The colors are easy to wear during the fall, and the fit is great. I have a size small, and I recommend sizing up if you have muscular glutes. I usually wear an XS, but I sized up in this.

I styled this dress with nude pumps linked here.

Amazon Elegant Sleeveless Off-Shoulder Floor Length Dress

Like I said, this off-the-shoulder look is very popular this year. I saw another influencer share this navy floor-length Amazon dress in a video, which prompted me to put it in my cart. It looked gorgeous on her – the top has a swooping look that feels very elevated and looks much more expensive than it is, and the fit looked amazing on her, too. It seems to be a great choice, too, judging by the 5,719 positive ratings. Since this is a true “gown”, it would be great for black tie.

I love that this dress comes in so many colors and ships quickly. And if it doesn’t work, it’s easy to return!

Since this dress is floor length, I’d stick to comfortable heeled sandals that show your toes rather than pumps.

Exclusive Brown Long Sleeve Maxi Dress

Here’s another great Tuckernuck wedding guest dress option: this Brown Long Sleeve Maxi Dress by Moon River. When I saw this, I immediately imagined a wedding in the city with cocktail attire, but it could also work for a more casual afternoon wedding in the fall. The metallic sheen of the fabric and the sexy slip-style underneath are playful yet simple at the same time. It would be perfect with a pair of strappy gold heels and gold jewelry. You could easily wear this into the holidays for dinner parties or events, as well.

Emerald Green Astrid Dress

This Emerald Green Astrid Dress would be such a great option for a wedding with more casual or cocktail attire. The green is muted, which definitely lends itself to a wedding later in the fall, but I love that it could also be worn throughout the holidays. The dramatic puff sleeves are eye-catching, while the rest of the dress is simple and classic. I’d wear this dress with chunky platform heels, put my hair up so that the sleeves don’t compete, and pair it with a gold or silver clutch to match whichever shoes you pick. Or, if you want to color out of the lines a bit, a contrasting color clutch – think yellow or pink; could be really fun and playful.

Exclusive Olive Tiered Maxi Dress

Surprise, surprise, another Tuckernuck wedding guest dress idea. And it’s also from Moon River. Moon River is priced really well, which is why you’ll see a handful of their dresses included in this roundup. This Exclusive Olive Tiered Maxi Dress is the perfect option for an early fall wedding. The thin straps and cotton fabric are best for warmer weather, but the olive green feels appropriate for a late September or early October wedding. I’d wear this dress for a cocktail attire wedding – the fabric doesn’t feel dressy enough for a black tie or black tie-optional wedding.

Style this dress with strappy nude heels and a nude clutch.

The A&F Emerson Strapless Slim Maxi Dress

This stunning Abercrombie Strapless Slim Maxi Dress is black tie-approved! It can be worn strapless or with the removable straps that come with it. The shiny silky fabric makes it dressy, and the ruching details along the bodice make it super flattering. The reviews say this dress runs long, so keep that in mind if you’re short like me – you’ll either need really tall heels or you’ll want to have it hemmed.

Draped Skirt Maxi Dress

Another great Abercrombie find. This Draped Skirt Maxi Dress would be perfect for a cocktail attire wedding. The high neckline is different from anything I’ve ever worn to a wedding, which I love. And the gathered skirt at the start of the slit would be great for disguising anything you’d want to hide in your midsection. I’d do the black colorway with gold accessories. Big, fun earrings are a must.

Silky Open-Back Maxi Dress

Hello gorgeous. This deep pink Silky Open-Back Maxi Dress from Banana Republic Factory is calling my name. This color is stunning and so flattering on everyone. While this could be dressed up with the right shoes and worn to a black-tie wedding, I might err on the side of caution and save it for a cocktail attire or formal wedding. The open back with cowl drape is incredibly sexy and balances well with the mock-neck in the front. And it’s under $100! So hard to beat.

These strappy heels would be fabulous with it.

Achanti Print Pleated Maxi Dress

How fun is this Achanti Print Pleated Maxi Dress? The colors are happy and playful, and they’re perfect for a southern fall wedding where it’s still warm through October. It’s flowy and feminine with a structured bodice and smocked back. If you’re in the early stages of pregnancy where you’re trying to hide a bump, this would be the perfect dress. The pattern is distracting, and the A-line fit will give you room and comfort. This is under $100 and sold at Nordstrom, so you get free shipping and returns.

Purple Gitta Mini Dress

I ordered this beautiful purple dress in hopes that I wouldn’t like it because it was quite expensive (not under $150, but I couldn’t help myself). Unfortunately, I love it, ha! This Kika Vargas strapless babydoll dress is by far one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever owned. I ordered my true size, and it fit perfectly, even with a growing baby bump last fall. It’s currently on final sale and only available in one size, but I wanted to include it just in case one of you can wear it this fall.

Where can I buy fall wedding guest dresses?

Good question. I spent a few hours scouring the internet to find the best wedding guest dresses, and I had the most success at these places:

What kind of dress do you wear to a September wedding?

The kind of dress you’d wear to a September wedding fully depends on where the wedding is. If it’s outdoors at the beach in North Carolina, you can get away with a much more summery look than if you were attending a wedding in Colorado or Chicago in September. The attire of the wedding is also a deciding factor. If the wedding is formal or black tie, I would wear a floor-length gown and choose the color based on the location. In the mountains, I might wear an emerald green or darker blue, and on the coast, I would opt for a more muted pink or light blue. The location and attire of the wedding you’re attending will be the deciding factors.

In general, however, I would opt for something that feels more summery than fall for September (and probably stay away from long sleeves since it may still be hot). Since summer doesn’t officially end until the very end of September, brighter hues and lighter fabrics are totally acceptable.

What color do you wear to an October wedding?

Again, this depends on where your wedding is! But as a rule of thumb, darker hues, such as emerald green, navy, cobalt blue, black, red, purple, and brown are all great options. Think darker, bolder, and more “cool” tones versus bright, light, and warm.

Can you wear a black dress to a fall wedding?

Absolutely. Black is totally appropriate for a fall wedding and a very popular choice (especially for formal or black-tie weddings).

Can you wear a floral dress to a fall wedding?

Of course. One of my favorite picks from this blog post is the navy floral dress (very top of the post) that I’d wear to a wedding in a heartbeat.

When I was growing up, Abercrombie & Fitch jeans were the very last thing I would wear. Every time I tried them on, they were WAY too small (even my correct size) which put a bad taste in my mouth, especially as a teenager. Now that I’m almost 40, I’m obsessed. Kind of ironic.

I was so surprised by these jeans and SHOCKED by how well they fit my petite frame without needing to be tailored, since they come in multiple lengths. They are truly a perfect fit! Now I shop at Abercrombie more regularly and find GREAT stuff there.

I’ve been on the hunt the last few years for some on-trend non-skinny jeans. I’m preferring a looser “mom-fit” these days, since I find them more comfortable and more flattering.

But as a petite 5’1″ woman, it’s difficult to find mom-jeans that don’t look frumpy, swallow my frame or look like flare, wide leg pants. Enter the Abercrombie Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jeans. So good that I now own nine pairs – 5 different styles and some styles in multiple washes. If you’re also petite, you’ll also love this post on my favorite jeans for petite women – no alternations needed.

In this review I’m sharing side by side comparisons with a few other brands of jeans I own so that you can see how good the Abercrombie jeans really are stacked up against designer denim (MOTHER denim) as well as Madewell. I also have to note that if you’re expecting, Abercrombie has some of the very best maternity jeans EVER. I did a full review on my favorite maternity jeans here, but today I’m talking about non-maternity jeans since that’s what the majority of you are shopping for.

Also, I have a video review that includes the Abercrombie Jeans if you prefer to watch rather than read.

The Best Abercrombie Jeans – a side by side comparison

Abercrombie Jeans Size Guide

First, let’s break down a few basics.

Do Abercrombie Jeans Run True-To-Size?

The sizing at Abercrombie must have changed because when I was in high school and middle school, trying on Abercrombie jeans was a traumatizing experience. I would have to try on sizes that were 4-6 sizes larger than my typical size to even get them on my body, which is a teenager’s nightmare. Now, I don’t really care about sizes and just order what fits, since brands vary so much.

However, Abercrombie jeans ARE true-to-size now, so toss that teenager dressing room trauma out the window. Before I had my second baby, I wore a 25 or a 26, and the 26s were perfect on me. The 25s worked but were tighter in the waist, of course (last year when I tried on all of these jeans I was 115 lbs and wore a size 26 – I’m also 5’1″ for height reference). Since I’m postpartum with my second son right now, I’m planning to order a size 27 in all of these jeans to try. If you are between sizes, I’d try sizing up in Abercrombie jeans since most styles don’t have stretch, but in general, keep your normal size!

Abercrombie has size ranges from 23W to 37W and two different fits (classic and curve love), which I’ll get into below.

Another thing that I LOVE about Abercrombie jeans is that they come in four different lengths:

  • Extra short
  • Short
  • Regular
  • Long.

Being 5’1″, having shorter options makes a huge difference for me, since regular jeans don’t always look the same unless I alter them. And if I can find jeans that don’t need alterations, I’m buying them (BTW, getting your jeans tailored to you is a sure-fire way to get more wear out of them, even though it can be annoying). I order the Short length (I have a short torso!) and I own both size 25 and size 26, which is true-to-size with the other brands of jeans I wear (Madewell, Paige, and Mother).

Abercrombie and Fitch has stores in most cities (even Winston-Salem which notoriously has not-great shopping options), so if shopping in-store is an option for you, you can go try on a few pairs.

I ordered the “short” length for my first pair and it hit right above my ankle bone, which is exactly what I was going for. However, my two pairs that do not have distressing are a little shorter, for some reason. I like the length of those, especially with my short boots, but keep that in mind when you’re shopping.

Here is the length chart from the A&F website.

Abercrombie jeans length chart

What is the difference between Classic and Curve Love fit?

In an effort to be more inclusive in their sizing, Abercrombie introduced a Curve Love fit. This fit features an additional 2″ through the hip and thigh for a little extra room to help eliminate the waist gap. Since I discovered the Curve Love Fit, it’s what I’ve been ordering, since I have muscular glutes and quads, and I find that fit is a lot more comfortable and flattering.

You can see a side-by-side comparison below. The one on the left is the regular fit and the one on the right is the Curve Love. They’re the exact same style and same size, but you can see the extra room near the top of my thighs in the pair on the right. It’s more comfortable and more flattering. I can wear the regular fit, as well, which is great since most of my older pairs are regular fit, but they’re just tighter.

Okay, let’s get into my favorite pairs.

Abercrombie and Fitch Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jean

Like I mentioned above, I had been on the hunt for straight leg jeans with a mom-fit style for a while. I didn’t want anything too baggy, since that’s not necessarily my style, but I wanted something that was cropped above my ankle with a looser fit at the bottom, that would still hug my booty enough on top. And I definitely wanted high waist. I don’t care that low waist jeans are coming back on trend. Hard pass on that for me.

Here is my list of wants in a pair of the perfect jeans:

  • high waist / high-rise jeans
  • option of a short length
  • slight distressing
  • loose-fitting on bottom, snug on the butt, thigh area, and hip area (sort of like mom jeans!)
  • not stretchy – I prefer the structure of true denim

And the Ultra Rise Ankle Straight Jeans hit the mark on all of those things and was the first pair of Abercrombie jeans I purchased, a little over 3 years ago. In this style, I originally ordered one pair that was distressed. Now I own two black pairs (one distressed, one without distressing) as well. The jeans cost $99 and go on sale often, which is a great deal compared to many pair of jeans that I own in the $175-$225 range.

This style also comes in the Curve Love Fit of the Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jean, which I ended up liking better (and that’s what I’m wearing below).

BTW – all of the jewelry I’m wearing in the photos below is linked in this blog post about my favorite everyday jewelry.

Side-By-Side Comparison

First, let’s compare the different washes I have in the Abercrombie and Fitch Ultra High-Rise Ankle Straight Jean. I want you to see a comparison of every angle to get a sense for how flattering they are!

The first photos show the original pair I got in Medium Destroy Wash, and the photos below show a Washed Grey (not available anymore but this pair is similar) and a black distressed wash that’s no longer made. They’re all so flattering, and they look like the perfect pair of “throw-on” jeans.

Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jeans

If you’re looking for a more vintage feel when it comes to your straight leg jeans, you should try the 90’s straight jeans. They’re similar to the pair I’m wearing above, but they have a full length leg and slightly frayed hem. They are also super high-rise, and not copped like the pair I’m wearing above.

I LOVE the length and the relaxed feel. They have a stiffer – more vintage feeling – shape, which is fun too.

This style also comes in the Curve Love fit of the Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jean.

One of my favorite “washes” from last year is back again this year, and I’m so excited. I looked high and low for a pair of leather pants this past winter and these black jeans with leather details were the most fun find ever (I’ve also reviewed leather pants from Abercrombie in a separate post, if you’re looking for more details on that style).

Ultra High Rise Stretch Flare Jean

This pair of flare jeans is also a great find. They have an ultra high rise and a full length leg. The flare begins at the knee and flares out dramatically toward the bottom. They have a really nice amount of stretch making them super comfortable. I’m wearing a size 25 in the short length.

Strangely, there are a couple different listings of these jeans online with different washes. You can see the black and dark blue wash flares here, and the flares in the light wash + two other blue washes here. I believe the second listing is slightly different with a more rigid feel since they are called “vintage”. I’d imagine they aren’t as stretchy.

This style comes in the Curve Love fit of the Ultra High Rise Stretch Flare Jean.

How Abercrombie Jeans Compare to other Brands

I have two other absolute favorite pairs of jeans when it comes to this style: MOTHER Insider Crop Step and Madewell’s Perfect Vintage pair. Let’s compare.

comparison of Abercrombie, Mother, and Madewell jeans

Vs. MOTHER Insider Crop Step

The MOTHER Insider Crop Step is another favorite of mine. You can see from the photo above that they’re slightly snug in the upper leg and then have a small flare at the bottom. MOTHER denim tends to be stretchier and much pricer at $228.

I feel like the MOTHER jeans are more polished than the Abercrombie, so that’s something to note while shopping. Abercrombie feels stiffer, like true denim, rather than stretchy. This is all preference, but stiffer denim holds its structure really well, and it gets more comfortable over time, which I love. I almost never wash them, unless Thomas or Charles get food or poop on them. Mom life. 😉

Overall, I love both styles (stretchy and non-stretchy), but wear them for different looks.

Vs. Madewell Perfect Vintage

The Madewell Perfect Vintage jean is similar to Abercrombie in price ($128 and less when on sale), but I don’t think they look as good. Madewell looks looser and a little slouchier. The top half of the jeans is less fitted than Abercrombie, which I don’t like as much. I wear the Petite size in Madewell, and they are still a little too long on me. I love that the Abercrombie jeans hit right at the ankle in the short length. It’s so rare to find jeans that aren’t too long on me!

I have a full blog post reviewing Madewell jeans as well.

Abercrombie Promo Code

I mentioned this earlier on in the post, but Abercrombie has sales all the time. While these jeans are usually priced at $99, I rarely ever buy them at full price. There are consistent sales making these jeans around $75 or cheaper, so I always recommend waiting for those. Whenever I have a promo code, I update this post.

They also have semi-annual sales through the LTK app, which I explain in detail in this LTK Sale blog post.

Abercrombie Jeans Review: Bottom Line

I LOVE THESE JEANS. I work from home but try to get “ready” every single day, and Abercrombie’s jeans are the ones I pull out of my closet to wear 90% of the time. There’s something so nice about having a pair of jeans that fit perfectly and looks good from every angle. If you’re on the fence, just order them to try. I’ve noticed that Abercrombie has sales frequently. I’ve also noticed that while they do sell out of sizes frequently, they always restock.

Happy shopping!

The post LAKE Pajamas Review: The Softest Pajamas You’ll Ever Sleep In appeared first on TeriLyn Adams.

If you’ve never invested in nice PJs, I’m going to convince you that it’s time (this is not sponsored – I just feel that strongly about it). And if you’re already a fan of luxurious pajamas, then you must try LAKE.

And right now is a GREAT time! Their Summer Sale just started, so shop quickly (sizes go fast).

For years, I kept seeing people talk about LAKE Pajamas on Instagram, and when I finally decided to give them a try, I wanted to kick myself for not giving in earlier and wasting money on other brands (including Cuyana, Eberjay and Cozy Earth). But LAKE PJs are worth the hype.

If you’re anything like I was and not sure what the hype is all about or maybe you’ve decided you want to get a pair of pajamas, but you’re not sure which ones, then I’ve got you covered in this post. I’m going to share my experience, the pros and cons, the sets that are worth buying, how to take care of them, and what size to order (since that does vary by fabric).

LAKE Pajamas Review (NOT Sponsored)

My Experience with LAKE Pajamas

I was introduced to LAKE Pajamas when I was newly postpartum with my first son, Thomas. For years, I never purchased actual pajamas, but instead just slept in workout clothes or ratty old t-shirts. Then, I finally bought true pajamas when I became a mom (I needed something that was easy to nurse in), and while I liked them, I wasn’t in love with them.

I finally tried LAKE Pajamas, and I’m now a pajamas snob. I had no idea what I was missing until my Content Manager bought me a pair as a gift, and she ruined me. They’re now the only PJs I’ll wear (I share photos anytime I get a new set on LTK — read how to use LTK here).

But, there are a few things to know before you buy.

Here are the key takeaways:

Pros:

  • Incredible fabrics that are so soft and comfortable to sleep in.
  • Cute patterns and styles – Pima cotton is my current favorite but I loved DreamModal when pregnant. I also LOVE the new shorts set I got, which is seersucker.
  • Matching sets with kiddos, which is cute.
  • Flattering on all body types and heights. I’m 5’1″ and love the same sets as my content manager who is 5’6″.

Cons:

  • Most sets need to be hung to dry or else they WILL shrink. Even if you dry once to intentionally shrink, they seem to keep shrinking when you dry again.
  • Dream Knit is super soft but stretches out to a weird shape and is really not flattering up top. You don’t want to walk around your kitchen in this style as it sort of clings.
  • Some sets shrink and some don’t and unless you have a ton of pairs (like I do), you wouldn’t know that! And because of that, you will need to buy different sizes in different fabrics.
  • Kids sets run very small.

If I could recommend one set, it would be the Pima Bundle, so you can try the shorts and the pants. Get your true size, unless you plan to dry them in the dryer or like your PJs a little roomier (I always size up in my Pima sets). Otherwise, stick to your traditional sizing and wash them on a delicate, cold cycle and hang to dry. If you get TWO sets, get the Alice shorts set, and do your true size for those.

How do LAKE Pajamas Fit?

Since you don’t typically wear PJs out of the house (but hey, I’m not judging if you do — okay, actually I am), sizing is more forgiving than with everyday clothes. However, LAKE isn’t cheap, so you’ll want to be sure to get the size that fits you best to get the most out of your pajamas.

In general, LAKE runs true-to-size. When they arrive, they’ll seem a tad large (and maybe a little long), and that’s because LAKE is accounting for a little shrinkage in the wash. So don’t worry if your PJs seem a little big at first; you do still need to use caution! Namely, don’t put them in the dryer.

I get an XS or S in every pair that I buy, and for reference, I’m 5’1″ and about 120-125 pounds.

Pima Cotton Sizing

I recommend sizing up. The Pima cotton sets have shrunk, especially in length for the pants, but tops fit almost perfectly, or perhaps even a little large. The pants are designed to be slightly cropped, so if you want them to be full length, hang dry them. I always get a small in Pima cotton knowing that they’ll shrink a little. I can wear medium in the Pima cotton (they’re very loose in the waist) but a medium in the seersucker set was far too big.

DreamKnit/Dreammodal Sizing

I recommend your true size. This doesn’t shrink as much (and even tends to stretch out), and I get an XS in these. If you’re a LAKE junkie like me, be mindful that their DreamKnit fabric is now called DreamModal, so you’ll see that throughout the post.

Seersucker Sizing

Get your true size or maybe size up for a looser fit. This material didn’t seem to shrink in the wash at all (which the Pima does), and I’ve never put it in the dryer.

Cotton Gauze

Sizing depends on the style. In this gauzy Hamptons set, the top seemed to run small but the pants seemed large to me. I got a small in this and it was pretty tight up top (however, I am breastfeeding!), while the bottoms were huge. I purposely put the pants in the dryer one time and now they’re perfect but the top is still tight. The square-neck has no stretch, so keep that in mind.

The Best LAKE Pajamas Products

Okay, now let’s talk about the pajamas themselves.

Pima Bundle

The Pima Bundle was my very first set of LAKE Pajamas. The bundle comes with a short sleeve top, pair of shorts, and a pair of pants, so you can have the best of both worlds. These are truly some of the softest cotton pajamas I’ve ever felt. They have an almost silky-like cotton feel. You know when something feels so soft that it almost feels cool to the touch? That’s the feeling you get when you put these on.

This bundle comes in four colors.

Pima Short Long Weekend Set

This set of Pajamas is VERY similar to the first Pima set I linked, but the shape of the Short Long Weekend Set is a little boxier. Instead of a wider boatneck, this set features a true crewneck. I love both and they’re equally comfortable. It’s all about your style preference.

Pima Ruffle Tank Short Set

This ruffled tank set is the same material as the set above, but in a slightly more feminine cut that I LOVE for summer. I wear a size small in this style. There are a few colorways available right now.

Pima Maternity Shorts Set

The Pima Maternity Shorts Set is finally new and improved! I actually wasn’t a fan of their previous maternity styles because the fit just wasn’t right. Everything was too big on top and too tight below the bump. Thankfully they redesigned them, and now I can confidently say they’re worth buying (and gifting) for expecting moms!

The top has snap buttons for easy nursing access and lots of room for a growing bump, and the shorts have a super stretchy elastic waistband with a drawstring for a better fit. I was so passionate about re-reviewing these pajamas when they improved the fit that I tried them on sans bump (with my Pilates ball, ha!). I wear a size small in this style.

See a short video try-on in this maternity set here.

Pima Ruffle Nightgown

I’m not traditionally a nightgown person, but the Pima Ruffle Nightgown changed my mind. It’s loose and breathable, feminine and flattering, and most of all, the softest cotton ever. I wear an XS in this style, since I’m not concerned with the length getting a tad shorter in the dryer (again, I’m 5’1″).

This is a great option for maternity since it has plenty of room for a bump but you can also find maternity specific pajamas online at LAKE. And this nightgown was one of my postpartum essentials since it’s so easy to nurse in and didn’t irritate my C-section incision.

DreamModal Ribbon Tank-Long Set

This DreamModal Pants set is incredibly lightweight and especially great for postpartum since it’s so stretchy. Right now it comes in the most beautiful green floral pattern.

DreamModal Nightgown

I love this nightgown from LAKE’s spring collection – the DreamModal Emma Nightgown in Meadow Bouquet. The colorway is gorgeous, and the midi length is great for wearing around the house when we have guests.

DreamModal Kimono Pajama Set

I got this DreamModal Kimono Set a couple of years ago and it’s definitely my cutest set. The top wraps up and has an interior tie to keep it secure, so you can either wear it on it’s own or wear it with a tank. I got this set in an XS and it has not shrunk like the Pima cotton sets.

DreamModal is a super soft material that has a more drapey feeling than the Pima cotton. The pants have a wide leg and elastic waistband (just like all LAKE Pajamas). I do wish it came with a regular tank and not only the kimono top, since it’s not comfortable to sleep in.

Alice Seersucker Shorts Set

This blue and white stripe Alice set is the newest addition to my LAKE collection. It’s breathable and airy, lightweight, and super cute. I like that it doesn’t lay tightly on top, so you can wear it throughout the kitchen in mornings without feeling underdressed. I have a size medium, but I should have gotten a small.

Relax Shorts Set

I love the darker blue color of this Relax Short set. It’s part of their “lounge” collection. I don’t sleep in it since it’s a bit heavier fabric but it’s perfect for lazy days. I have this set in an XS.

Relax Pants Set

The Relax Pants set is the coziest lounge set ever, and I wore it a lot when newly postpartum. I have this in a small because I ordered it while pregnant, but an XS would fit better now.

Cozy Robe in French Blue

The LAKE Cozy Robe is named rather perfectly. It’s incredibly cozy and very warm, so it’s great in the winter months. But I don’t wear it in the summer or while I’m getting ready since it gets too hot (I have a terry robe from Weezie that I wear when I’m getting ready). Since it’s so luxurious, it’s a perfect gift to give for birthdays, Mother’s Day or Christmas.

I love the traditional turndown collar, a sewn-in belt (THANK YOU!) and the large pockets on the side of the robe.

Pima Scalloped Robe

I love the Pima scalloped robe for a lightweight option. It’s perfect for warm days and breastfeeding, and the scalloped version is a little longer than some of their other Pima robes, which I prefer. I get my true size in this robe since it’s more forgiving.

Collaboration Sets

I love that LAKE has limited edition sets every so often where they collaborate with other designers and creatives for super unique patterns and prints. While the sets that we have from past collaborations are now sold out, I’ll share a few photos to give you a sense for the fun patterns they have every so often!

Sadly, this green Henley set sold out.

Men’s LAKE Pajamas

While Tommy wouldn’t likely wear a full PJ set, I did get him these Pajama pants last year (and got my brother in law a pair this year!), and he LOVES them. They’re SO much softer than guys are used to!

About LAKE Pajamas

The company was started by two friends: Cassandra Cannon and Anne Read Lattimore, while they were looking for PJs that met their dream requirements. They wanted a set that was stylish AND comfortable. They weren’t looking for sexy sleepwear, and they wanted something better than their old T-shirts. So they founded LAKE to create classic pajamas that were softer than anything on the market.

Since their start, they’ve garnered coverage on large media platforms like Forbes, Town & Country, Vogue, and the WSJ.

Where to Buy LAKE Pajamas

LAKE is based in Savannah, Georgia and is primarily e-commerce. However, there are two brick and mortar stores in Atlanta and Charleston. I got to stop in the Charleston location on a “mini vacation” weekend last winter and it’s even better than I’d imagined. I could have bought everything and it’s just such a beautiful space.

The Annual LAKE Pajamas Sale

The LAKE Pajamas Annual Sale happens each year around President’s Day weekend. The discounts are usually up 50% off, and sizes always go VERY fast. If you’re a member of my newsletter, I email as soon as the sale starts.

LAKE Pajamas Care Instructions

The best way to care for your pajamas is to wash them with similar colors on a delicate cycle. Definitely hang dry unless you want to intentionally shrink, as noted above in the sizing section.

I drove 1.5 hours to Charlotte last week to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I tried on over 50 items — shoes, denim, dresses, activewear and coats — to help you get the cutest things (and I shared what’s just meh).

There are over 5000 things included in Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, so it can be a bit overwhelming to shop. I shared my honest thoughts below and whether it’s worth buying. And, I posted even more on my LTK page, i.e. every single thing that I tried on! And I’ll continue to share tips on my my Instagram Channel all about the Nordstrom Sale for more shopping help throughout the sale!

If you want to see my entire try-on haul in video form, watch everything on my Nordstrom Sale IG highlight here. I also have a Nordstrom Try-On video on YouTube you can watch (also embedded below).

YouTube Video

I shared how I styled everything I bought on LTK here.

The Best Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Finds

I’m sharing everything I tried on in store and I’ll continue to add if I buy anything else online. For reference, I’m 5’1″ and I think around 125-130 pounds. Note that I am breastfeeding and have a fairly large chest right now (like DDD), so that impacts how tops fit. In most jeans, I’m typically a size 27, so I noted if these are True to Size (TTS) based on that.

For shoes, I wear a 6.5 but almost always go up a 1/2 size in sneakers and boots, so I noted what is TTS based on a size 6.5 or if I sized up to a 7.

Okay, here’s my top picks. Let me know if you have questions on anything!

Women’s Shoes

This year I wanted to make sure to find some cute sneakers for athleisure outfits, as well as some dressier shoes for church and work. I ended up with 6 pairs of shoes (the first six shown below), and I’m SO excited about all of them. I included a few others that were comfortable but just weren’t my style, but they may be worth considering if they are your style.

On Cloudmonster Running Shoe

I did not expect to love these as much as I do. I’m not into Hokas and these definitely give Hoka vibes, but I think they’re so much cuter (I have always preferred On over Hoka, both for style and comfort). These are insanely comfortable and make a simple black athleisure outfit pop. I went up 1/2 size in these.

New Balance 327 Sneaker

I own these in the black & white colorway and wear them non-stop, so I’m excited about this neutral option that will go with everything. These are my go-to shoe for travel since they’re stylish and comfortable enough to walk miles in. I went up 1/2 size in these.

Steve Madden Katie Platform Slide Sandal

Honestly, I kind of shocked myself that I loved these but I couldn’t get over how comfortable they were. They’re SO cushioned. I feel like I’ll wear them most around the house and with athleisure but I could see them working with certain rompers and dresses. I bought my usual size in these.

Sam Edelman Farrah Kitten Heel Pointed Toe Slingback Pump

I’m not usually into kitten heels, but these days, with two young kids, these are more practical than the traditional pump I wore when working in finance and banking. I especially love the plaid colorway. These will be cute with dresses, skirts and jeans. They’re a tiny bit snug (just because of the material) so if you’re on the fence, size up.

New Balance 990 Running Shoe

These are very popular! I’ll keep you updated on my IG Nordstrom Channel if/when they sale out. I’m surprised I like these as much as I do but they’re fun and comfortable (and very on trend). I went up 1/2 size.

If you love them and are willing to pay full-price, they’re in stock here at Zappos.

Stuart Weitzman Landon Pointed Toe Ballet Flat

I grabbed these without looking at the price tag, which was rough because they’re pricey but also, WOW, they are beautiful and so comfortable. I love the look of pointy-toe flats but never have found a pair that fit my foot well; they always slip off my heel or hurt my toes. These are PERFECT.

They didn’t have this colorway in my size in the store, so I ordered them and purchased the black colorway, as well, since they did have that in stock. By far the biggest splurge, but these will be staples in my closet for years. They’re TTS.

Blondo Emmalyn Waterproof Bootie

The bootie selection was not great this year but this is the best option. It’s a beautiful color and they are comfortable. They’re waterproof too. I eventually ended up putting these back since I have a few other other booties I love, but I may regret it. I went up 1/2 size when I tried them on and they were great.

On Cloudswift 3 AD Running Shoe

I was meh on these, both the style and the color, and there were other options I liked better. But, they are comfortable so if you like them, I can vouch for that aspect! Go up 1/2 size.

Nike Phoenix Waffle Sneaker

I thought I’d love these, since I own and love another version of the Nike Waffle Sneaker, but they seemed like shoes that were confused. “Are we running shoes? Are we fashion sneakers? I dunno, but the New Balance 327s are cool so let’s try to be like them.” But I’m including them because I think they’d be a good walking shoe for exercise (the New Balance are super comfortable, but I wouldn’t use them for exercise, ya know?) Go up 1/2 size.

See the rest of their sale shoe selection here!

Activewear

I always look for Zella items, since the brand is high quality and affordable. Recently, I’ve loved wearing athleisure outfits, so I’m eyeing a few activewear pieces from the sale. The women’s active section is full of great finds.

Here’s what I love from the sale this year:

FP Movement Pippa Water Resistant Packable Pullover

I laughed when I put this on at first because it’s so big, but within 15 seconds I fell in love. It’s soft (I wouldn’t typically call a puffer style jacket soft but it is) and it’s light as air. It just made me happy and it’ll be cute with leggings. It’s an oversized fit so size down. I got a small but wish I’d thought to try on the XS. I’ll be stalking the website for a restock but even if I can’t get it, I think the small is fine.

SPANX® AirEssentials Crewneck Sweatshirt & SPANX® AirEssentials 4-Inch Shorts

These are so soft and comfortable that I purchased them and changed into them for the 1.5 hour drive home. Yep, they’re that good. They’re buttery soft. If you’ve worn Spanx AirEssentials material in the past, you know. I got the quarter zip version two years ago and wore it into the ground. I think both run a little small so size up; I got a medium in both.

Zella Studio Luxe High Waist Pocket 7/8 Leggings

Honestly shocked by these leggings. (1) The price is great. (2) I never like leggings with side pockets but I love these. And (3) they fit beautifully!! I thought they for sure were going to be a pricier brand, since I didn’t realize they were Zella when I put them on! These are TTS – I bought a size small.

Zella Plush Ottoman Sweatshirt

I bought this sweatshirt last year in two colorways, since I loved it so much. This version is a little different but equally as flattering and versatile. The ribbing isn’t as pronounced as it was on last year’s and it’s a tiny bit shorter, which I like. It’s TTS with an oversized fit. I got a size small.

(There are also biker shorts from Free People that would look cute with this sweatshirt; they were comfortable and flattering, but I ultimately passed on them, since I have others at home.)

Zella Cloud Fleece Sweatshirt

I loved this!! It fit perfectly and the bright color is fun without being obnoxious and it’s soft. Clearly having a sweatshirt moment. I bought the ivory but am kicking myself for not getting the pink (I may still buy it). I think it runs small so size up; I got a medium.

Zella Restore Soft Lite Relaxed Tee

Nothing fancy about this, but it’s a great option to wear with athleisure, and I don’t have a black activewear tee. The price was good and it fit well, so I bought it! It’s TTS, maybe a little oversized, and I got a size small.

Zella Kickback Ottoman Tunic

This is a longer length that will be perfect with leggings! I liked it but liked the simple crewneck sweatshirts better so I left this one. But if you prefer to have your bum covered when wearing leggings, get this for sure.

Free People All Star Sweatshirt

I was so torn on this. It was insanely comfortable — like a super old broken in sweatshirt you stole from your husband’s closet — but it also looked distressed and like it had stains on it. And I KNOW, I KNOW that’s intentional for the style, and I feel like my dad, but I just couldn’t pay $60 for something that looked that worn. I’ll find a cheaper one that I love as much and let my kids do the staining. 😉

Zella Luxe Lite Half Zip Performance Top

This was fine but I prefer my Brooks quarter zip top so I put this back! I liked the material, but it was too tight and honestly I was too worn out to try on the bigger size, especially since I have a nearly identical one I love more.

Jeans

Denim is one of those pieces that I am willing to splurge on, since I know they will last for YEARS. It’s so rare to find such great jeans discounted so much, so the Nordstom sale is a great time to buy some must-have jeans. Make sure to spend some time in the denim section of Nordstrom’s site— it’s good!

I was most surprised by how much I loved the KUT from the Kloth brand this year! It’s more affordable than every other brand I tried on and I actually liked the fit and feel better than all the designer pairs. I took two pairs home with me:

KUT from the Kloth Meg High Waist Raw Hem Ankle Wide Leg Jeans

My favorite jeans last year were KUT from the Kloth and I figured it was just because I was newly pregnant but nope, this brand was my favorite this year too! I tried on Paige, Mother and a few other designer jeans and still preferred these! They fit like a dream, the wash is classic and they have just enough stretch.

I do wish I’d tried on the Petite (duh) but the regular sizing fit well. I may have a hard time styling with shoes, so I might just have to cut them a bit (but hey, perk of a raw hem!). I bought a size 2 and feel they’re TTS, maybe a little large.

KUT from the Kloth Meg Patch Pocket Wide Leg Jeans

I love love love love these jeans. I’m not certain what shoes I’ll wear them with, but the front pockets are so fun that I had to buy them. Again, I wish I’d tried on the petite but I actually think the regular in this style is better for a longer length. They’re TTS and I bought a size 2. But if you’re on the fence, size down because in other jeans I own, I’m typically a size 27, which is more equivalent to a size 4.

Joe’s Jeans Provocateur

If you need a great pair of bootcut jeans, my favorite pick for this year are the Provocateur from Joe’s. They fit true to size (I have a 27) and look amazing with a pair of pumps. I’m 5’1″, and these are the regular length. I believe these are made in a petite, but I don’t think Nordstrom carries them.

AG Saige High Waist Ankle Wide Leg Jeans

I liked these but they didn’t wow me. I think if you’re a little taller, they may fit better. They are TTS, maybe a little large. I tried on a size 26.

MOTHER The Hustler Frayed Ankle Jeans

I love my Mother jeans in this style but the wash they had at the sale was NOT cute. It almost had a brown tint and the dark areas were weird (like it looks like I wet myself!). Hard pass. I tried on a size 26 and they were pretty snug so order your usual size.

MOTHER The Twister Sneak High Waist Flared Wide Leg Jeans

If you are tall, these would be STUNNING. I loved how they fit (and they especially looked great on the bum), but I feared by the time I hemmed them, I would lose the dramatic flare that makes them so fun.

FRAME Le Easy Flare Raw Hem Jeans

These were just okay. They were comfortable and flattering but I didn’t love the wash.

Dresses

Online, I wasn’t impressed with the dress selection this year, but once I shopped in-store, I was blown away by 4 of the dresses I tried!

Maggy London Double Breasted Midi Blazer Dress

I grabbed this off the rack without checking the price and fell in love as soon as I put it on. I was convinced it was going to be $300+ since the quality is so great, but it’s under $100!! It will be so versatile for work, church, some weddings and I might even try to style it with sneakers (since I love sneakers with dresses!) I have a size 2 and it runs maybe a tad large.

Steve Madden Laken Faux Leather Shirtdress

I don’t even know what called to me to grab this off the rack considering it was 98 degrees, 99% humidity and we were under a heat advisory, but dang, this is gorgeous! It was shockingly comfortable and the snap buttons will make breastfeeding a breeze. I have a small and it’s TTS.

Chelsea28 Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress

I have a couple weddings this fall and this color-way will lend itself to summer or fall weddings, so it’s a perfect transition dress. It’s absolutely beautiful and fits like a glove (even with my more muscular glutes!). I have a small and it’s TTS but size up if you’re on the fence or if you are curvier.

State Floral Long Sleeve Cotton Blend Voile Dress

The price point on this is so good and it would be a perfect dress for pregnancy since the waist is adjustable (and then great for postpartum with the button front). But I ultimately passed on it since I didn’t love how it fell on my chest and I didn’t think the colorway was the best on me.

Good American Fit for Success Utility Dress

While this was super flattering, it was too tight for my taste. I sized up to a medium and it was still really snug, so I’d suggest sizing up two sizes or skipping this dress unless you’re younger. Not a great option for an almost 40-year-old mom!

Tops & Sweaters

You’ll see some basics, some really fun, feminine pieces, as well as some really great pops of color! I’d scroll through this whole tops section on Nordstrom’s site since it’s always good to refresh your tops.

BP. Butter Rib Square Neck Bodysuit

I grabbed this to try on under blazers and was shocked at the quality. It has a small rib and is a nice thick quality with soft material. I would have expected it to be $50+ but it’s only $22. I forgot to buy the white in store but definitely want both white and black. I hate body suits but I just tuck it in and don’t snap. I have a small and it’s TTS.

BP. Seamed Oversize V-Neck Rib Sweater

This was soft and cozy and a great basic! I passed since I have others I like more, but if you need an oversized sweater for your closet, this one’s quality is solid and the fit is comfortable. I tried on a small and it’s TTS with an oversized fit.

Topshop V-Neck Sweater Vest

This is shockingly soft and fits beautifully for the price point! I think it will look better with more fitted jeans and the material and style are a perfect transition item for summer to fall. It runs large since it’s slightly oversized, so size down for a more fitted look. I have an XS.

Topshop Cable Crop Cardigan

I absolutely loved the way I felt in this – it was flattering, a tiny bit sexy with the V-neck but still so soft and comfortable. And I liked the cropped length since that’s flattering with jeans. The sleeves are long on me, so I hope that doesn’t drive me crazy, but I ultimately pulled it out of my maybe pile into the BUY pile! I sized up to a medium for a looser fit.

Caslon® Easy Pima Cotton Roll Neck Sweater

I absolutely love stripes, and I like the fun take on this top with the different colorblocks and pop of orange. The quality is fantastic too – it reminds me of my favorite flag sweater from Tuckernuck that costs 5x as much! This is another sweater that will transition well from summer to fall, since you can pair it with denim shorts now (perfect on the lake or in the mountains!) and then with jeans in the fall. I have a small and it’s TTS.

Madewell Dedham Stripe Polo Sweater

I didn’t think this looked very cute online, but I loved it in person. Madewell always makes great sweaters but they typically have wool, which makes me itch like crazy. This one is mostly cotton with a little bit of stretch and it’s super soft and comfortable. This will also transition well from summer to fall! I have a small and it’s TTS.

Caslon Cable Knit Pima Cotton Sweater Vest

I wanted to like this sweater more than I did. It was better on the hanger than on my body.

Free People Sandre Cable Stitch Pullover Sweater

This sweater was a big no for me. You can tell more by watching this video, but the sleeves were super long, the fit was wonky, and it just didn’t feel good. Pass on this!

Free People Rowan Sweater

This felt like a dirty washcloth – no lie. The picture is cute, but don’t be fooled, not worth buying.

Free People Bonfire Cable Knit Cardigan

I guess Free People was just not the brand for me this year. I thought this cardigan was too thick and bulky. Too much sweater for my frame. And the buttons are a little too distracting.

Jackets & Coats

The selection of coats, blazers and jackets this year is probably the best I’ve ever seen included in the sale! Coats and jackets are definitely something I buy at the Anniversary Sale, since they’re typically more expensive pieces, so I like getting them on sale. And, it’s also a good excuse to get some more fun items now that I have my basic needs covered with outerwear (I focused on getting basics last year, like a very warm long puffer coat and a lightweight jacket for spring and fall). Barbour RARELY goes on sale, but there are some amazing Barbour jackets included in this year’s sale.

Here’s what I loved in-store:

Avec Les Filles Plaid Bouclé Walker Coat

This is a fun take on a classic shape. I love plaid so the on-trend oversized plaid paired with a classic shape coat is right up my alley. Plus, it’s soft! This is definitely a thicker coat, so it will work well in the fall and winter and is roomy enough to layer over sweaters. I first tried on a small but ended up getting an XS (which is pictured below).

It’s TTS if you want extra room for layering, but size down if you don’t think you’ll layer super thick sweaters under it. So maybe size down if you live in the South but get your usual size if you live in a colder climate.

Halogen® Plaid Oversize One Button Blazer

The blazer of the year!! I tried on five blazers and this was the winning one, since it fits beautifully and is a great price! My Nordstrom stylist found this one for me and I’m so grateful because I didn’t see it online or in the store when I browsed! Way to go Deon! The description says it’s oversized but I disagree – I think it runs TTS. I have a small.

Thread & Supply Crop Puffer Vest

A simple cropped vest is a great item for anyone to have in their closet. This Thread and Supply vest was simple and basic (just what you need), but if you’re able to snag the Zella Reversible Quilted Vest, I’d get that instead (they didn’t have it in store, so I ordered it online). I’m wearing a size small in the Thread and Supply vest.

Open Edit Relaxed Fit Blazer

For only $50, this blue blazer is such a great find (and it comes in other colors). I didn’t need a blue blazer (and only decided to buy the plaid one above), but if you work in an office, this would be a fun way to dress up your wardrobe a little bit. The fit was true to size.

Theory Houndstooth Double Breasted Blazer

Gorgeous but really pricey. And since the plaid blazer above was such a great fit, I decided to skip this Theory option. I did love the double breasted detail, though. If you work in corporate where you can justify a super nice blazer, since you’ll wear it all the time, I think this is a great purchase.

Reiss Larsson Double Breasted Blazer

Another great investment blazer option. I love anything in a camel color, and this blazer is no exception. The fit was phenomenal, and if I knew I would wear this more, I would have bought it.

L’AGENCE Angelina Tweed Jacket

This tweed jacket wasn’t my vibe, but the fit was great. If this feels like your vibe, I can attest that it’s great quality and the fit is perfect.

Underwear

I always stock up on my all time favorite Natori thongs during the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I used to be a big Hanky Panky girl, but these changed me. They’re so much better!

Watch this video I filmed in Nordstrom with some details about these thongs.

Accessories

A smaller selection but some GOOD stuff. I got the mini Longchamp, this Mali + Lili Vegan Tote and this gorgeous raffia clutch.

Beauty

A couple great finds! I LOVE my T3 hair dryer and blow out brush, and they’re both included in the sale.

Baby & Kids

The Nordstrom sale is one of the best times of year to get a pricey stroller on sale. Our jogging stroller (review here) and Uppababy Vista strollers are both on sale! Read my review of the UppaBaby Vista stroller here.

I’m really interested in buying the Doona Liki S3 Convertible Stroller Trike, but I’m fighting myself on it since I don’t need yet another stroller. And since we love the Nuna Rava car seat for Thomas, I’m getting a second one for Charles.

Men’s Clothing

Tommy never shops, and if he does, 99.9% of what he buys is from Duckhead. But Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is a great way to refresh his closet with a few items that Duckhead doesn’t carry or to add a little variety. This year’s men’s selection has the best selection I’ve seen yet. There are tons of full suits on sale, shoes, and also great dress shirts.

Why is Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale Such a Big Deal?

The Anniversary Sale happens once a year, and it’s different than most sales that stores promote. When a store has a sale, it’s typically to get rid of last season’s clothes as the new ones come in, and generally after the sale, things will go on final sale to make sure they get out the door. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale discounts brand new styles for the fall season. And once the sale is over, the prices go right back up to the normal retail value. It’s essentially a pre-season sale. So, you’ll notice a lot of my picks are fall styles.

I typically shop for designer denim, shoes, fall booties, high quality coats and jackets. I also shop for my husband during this sale because (a) he hates shopping and (b) the men’s stuff in the sale is typically pretty good. This sale is the best for brands he loves like Peter Millar, On, Barbour and more.

They also discount baby and kids items that are usually impossible to find on sale, like the Doona, the UppaBaby Vista Stroller, and the Nuna Rava Convertible carseat (I own and love all of those).

Do Things in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Sell Out?

Yep. But I’m going to give you some tips to get them before they sell out.

  1. Become a cardholder (more on that below). How much you spend each year will determine how early you get to shop, but even the basic cardholder level gets to shop sooner than public access.
  2. Download the LTK app. Follow your favorite influencers (like me ;)) and start favoriting the things you like. That way you aren’t trying to browse over 5,000 items and getting overwhelmed. My full-time job is to make shopping online easier for you! Then, go favorite those same things in the Nordstrom app. Here’s how to use the LTK app.
  3. Download the Nordstrom app. Create an account and start favoriting things from the Nordstrom sale. By creating a “wishlist” in the Nordstrom app, you can move things right from your wishlist to your cart and checkout FAST. Sometimes I’ll place multiple orders just to checkout as soon as I can for things that I REALLY want. You’ll also get notified if something restocks, but only if it’s on your wishlist before the sale (you won’t be able to add it to your wishlist once it’s sold out)!

When is Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale?

The 2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now OPEN for all shoppers and goes through August 4. However, Nordstrom cardholders get early access to the sale, as outlined below.

What to Expect From Me During the Sale

Every year, I round up and link my favorite picks from the entire sale. I spend hours looking through the pieces and organizing my finds so that you can shop the sale easily. I publish this blog post when the Early Access Sale starts and then re-publish this same post when Public Access opens (so bookmark this post; it’ll be updated regularly)! When Public Access opens, I go back to see what’s sold out, pick new things out, and make sure it’s still helpful for those who haven’t shopped yet.

I also post on my LTK page during the sale to link specific looks. You can follow me on LTK here.

Should I Become a Nordstrom Cardholder?

Great question. It’s not a deal breaker not to be a Nordstrom cardholder, especially since the sale does become public, but I’ve been a cardholder for years, and I love it. I will say that there are a lot of cardholders and there are lots of pieces that sell out during the Early Access Sale.

If you have your eyes on specific pieces AND you shop with Nordstrom regularly, it’s definitely something to consider (with my background in finance, I’m not one to casually recommend that you open a bunch of credit cards; in fact, this is the only brand-specific credit card I have). But, if you’ve never shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before, maybe see what it’s like this year before opening a card.

Whether you get a card or not, be sure to create an account to join the Nordy Club, so you can earn points. Then, you can do a double point day whenever you place your biggest order to maximize the Nordy Cash you’ll earn. The Nordy Club is free and not a credit card – just a rewards program.

Nordstrom Return Policy

One of the reasons that I’m so loyal to Nordstrom is their return policy. They send a free shipping return label in every one of their packages so that you can repack your items and pop them back into the mail easily. No questions asked. It’s almost better than shopping in person because there’s no pressure and you can try your items on in your own home (although I DO really want a Nordstrom location in Winston-Salem)!!

So, the return policy alone is enough of a reason to shop at Nordstrom.  This sale is on new pieces, and nothing is final sale, so you can return anything you don’t love.

Okay, I think that’s it!

Don’t forget to bookmark this post and follow me on the LTK app for updates on my favorite picks throughout the sale. Happy shopping!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: TUCKERNUCK ANNUAL SALE ON SALE! I scoured the sale section to find the best picks to add to your cart. If you’re shopping this post, I’m assuming you know what Tuckernuck is, but in case you don’t, my blog post with my favorite Tuckernuck dresses has more details. I also have a post with my favorite Tuckernuck shoes.

While Tuckernuck has a variety of price points, I do tend to feel like it’s on the pricey side when compared to places like J.Crew or the brands I like at Nordstrom. Lucky for us, their annual Sale On Sale starts today, 7/6/2024. It’s only 2 days, so shop quickly. If you need more wardrobe basics for fall, be sure to check out my favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale finds, since that sale goes longer. (The Tuckernuck Sample Sale happens earlier in the year but Sale on Sale typically has deeper discounts.)

The Sale On Sale is an additional 20% off sale finds, so you’ll see products marked down to 70% off. Everything is final sale, and while I usually opt out of buying anything I can’t return, I’ve learned that this is the best time to snag the pieces I’ve had my eyes on for the past few months. And, Tuckernuck does a good job of noting what size the model is wearing in their photos, which makes picking your size a bit easier; keep that in mind when you’re ordering. When checking out, use the code HEATWAVE for the extra 20% off.

The 14 Best Finds From the Tuckernuck Annual Sale on Sale

I think the Tuckernuck sale dresses are the best finds this year, but they do have a few great tops on sale, as well! Better than usual, honestly!

1. White Annie Smocked Dress

The White Annie Smocked dress is one of my most worn (and loved) dresses. I bought it years ago and have worn it consistently since then. The fit is forgiving because the top is smocked and stretchy. I wear a size XS, and it fits me true to size. It’s pregnancy and nursing friendly too! The sizes are going quickly on this, so be sure to snag yours if it’s available.

2. Emerald Green Tweed Bianca Dress

I love the bright color of this Emerald Green Tweed Bianca Dress. Green is very trendy this year, for good reason, and I appreciate that this tweed material lends itself to the transition to fall!

3. Navy Swiss Dot Kenzo Dress

There’s nothing quite as useful as a simple, solid colored sundress with sleeves. The Navy Swiss Dot Kenzo Dress is a great transitional piece because the classic dot fabric balances the long sleeves and makes this appropriate for spring or fall — right when the weather is sorta chilly but not cold enough for true winter fabrics.

When I tried HEATWAVE this morning it didn’t work for some reason, but YOUROCK did. Try that!

4. Viridian Stamped Bouquets Gabrielle Dress

Any late summer or early fall weddings coming up? I can’t think of a better dress than this Viridian Stamped Bouquets Gabrielle Dress. I love the deep green, the smocked top (hello nursing friendly!), and the fun puff sleeves. It would be gorgeous with some simple heels.

5. Blue Floral Shelby Tee

I’m all about elevated basics, since they make an otherwise simple (and maybe slightly boring) outfit feel special without sacrificing ease. This Blue Floral Shelby Tee is the ideal elevated basic to pair with denim (shorts or jeans) or even underneath a cute pair of white overalls.

This top also comes in two different pink colorways.

6. Black Structured Lana Top

Along with my obsession with elevated basics comes my obsession with classic shapes that are really easy to style multiple ways. Especially when something is on the pricier end, I want to know I can wear it a few different ways to make sure I get good use out of it. This Black Structured Lana Top is a perfect example. The shape is simple and classic (and not fussy at all), but the material is structured which makes it feel dressy and polished. You could wear this top with dark jeans, white jeans, colored pants, and even a good pair of colored shorts. I love that the neckline allows for fun necklaces too.

7. Rosewood Chintz Crawford Dress

This Rosewood Chintz Crawford Dress was a best seller last fall (and for good reason). The brown floral print is unique and very “fall” but the cut and fit of the dress is great for warm weather too. You can easily pair this dress with a cute pair of platform heels or even a pair of tall boots like these from Paige (which are on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale).

8. Black Eyelet Marshall Midi Dress

So fun, easy, and perfect for almost every occasion I can think of. This Black Eyelet Marshall Midi Dress is a great transitional dress for the September days when you want to dress for fall but it’s way too hot.

9. Chambray Linen Mirabella Blouse

If you’re looking to elevate your work wardrobe for the fall, this Chambray Linen Mirabella Blouse is the perfect addition. The linen fabric makes it light enough for the still-warm early days of fall, but the sleeves and collar make it office appropriate.

10. Dappled Hollyhock Tate Dress

It’s rare that I’m drawn to funky patterns, especially for a dress, but this Dappled Hollyhock Tate Dress turned my head. I love it! I keep thinking about how cool it would be with some platform black heels for a cocktail party in the cooler weather.

11. Black Baxter Turtleneck Dress

It’s July so I can’t even imagine putting this Black Baxter Turtleneck Dress on, but come October I’m going to be so happy I ordered it. I’d wear this dress with a pair of tall heeled boots.

12. Truffle Crosby Dress

I ordered this Truffle Crosby Dress in the light blue color-way a year ago, and I accidentally got the wrong size. I was annoyed that I never re-ordered it in my true size, and now I’m so happy! I can snag it on sale and I also know that it fits in my true size now.

Here’s a video of the dress on me.

13. Caramel Medium Tulip Shoulder Bag

Cutest. Tote. Ever. This Caramel Medium Tulip Shoulder Bag looks like the perfect size – not too big but large enough to hold everything you need for the day. I think it would even fit a laptop.

14. Gold Bamboo Wright Earrings

I love these Gold Bamboo Wright Earrings because you could easily dress them up or down.
