I love connecting with people from back home! Wasatch Back Ragner is so fun! I’ll probably be out in 2014 for the Moab Half again but I don’t think I’ll make any races in 2013. My Utah trips this year are in the dead of summer and dead of winter. 🙂

I will be doing the wastatch back ragnar for the 3rd yime this June and I’m so excited. Its fun to randomly come across a fun blog from someone who is also from Utah.

I see that you live in NC. I am going to Albemarle to run a race there April 13. I might die because I live in flat FL and the race is up a mountain, but it should be a really unique race. It’s called the Moonlight half marathon and movie if you are looking for anything new for your race calendar.

I see from this post that you have suffered from ITB problems, I had to pull out of a marathon last year about 3 weeks before after suffering with ITB issues. Just wondering if you have any stretches, exercises, tips to strengthen it! How did you find running/training after your problems? I have just started running again, after way too long a break, and I am really nervous about it! Thanks. x

Hi Stephanie!

I would rest up and when you’re feeling better, do a mid-length run (maybe 5-6K) and then perhaps a few days later, go out for a run anywhere from 7-9K. Don’t push it too hard, just focus on the being out there for the distance. Then race up (taper) before the 10K. Just listen to your body!

Good luck, let me know how it goes!

Love your blog and goals! I am like you… a foodie trying to be healthy! As I live in Milan quite far away from family and friends (they live in Belgium and Holland), I started this international cooking club! If you feel like sharing some of your knowledge… have a look!
As for my runnin – I have a question, I am at the point of running 7k quite easily now. My first 10k race is in 3 weeks but I’m sick at home with a bad cold and fever. You think I will be ready for the 10k by the 27th of March?? Any tips on how to recover and run again and how to prepare for it??
THANKS
Baci from Milan

I think I remember you 🙂 Not being creepy, haha… I finished just under 2 hours so I bet we were right by each other the whole time!! I went to Wake and graduated last May so I went back to run that half in Winston. I only live in Durham about an hour away so it wasn’t a far trip!
