Today I’m sharing all the outfits that I wore on my D.C. trip, including my “cocktail red carpet ready” dress and the “cocktail black and white chic” dress – ha! (More on that below.) I got a LOT of questions on Instagram when I posted pics in my stories during that trip, and I think I got back to everyone with answers, but apologies if I missed your message! As a reminder for those who love the fashion posts, I share outfits on Instagram throughout the week, so follow along there to see what I’m wearing more often than it appears on the blog. And if you want to shop my outfits directly from Instagram, here’s how!
I get a LOT about this shirt every time I wear it, and it’s about 5 years old from Nordstrom Rack! I linked a very similar one below. And these heels are by far my most comfortable and they’re back in stock in all sizes! I got them last year and they sold out almost immediately. Get them while they’re back!!

It was MUCH colder in D.C. than I expected so I was really glad I packed a coat!

This is another top that I get lots of questions about and unfortunately it’s also sold out!

This blazer is by far one of the best purchases I made in the past few months. I’ve wanted a camel colored blazer for years, and I finally splurged and got this one from J.Crew. It fits like a dream and the color goes with everything, year round. I instantly feel polished when I put it on.

The Beautycounter invitations had pretty funny dress code descriptions. For Sunday night, the dress code was “cocktail red carpet ready.” I had NO idea what that meant, so I went for a cocktail dress that was a bit fancier than what I would wear for date night. I felt comfortable, but I also could have gone much dressier with this crowd! Lots of women wore full-length gowns which would have been really fun! 🙂

For the Monday night event, the dress code was Cocktail Black & White Chic. That was a little easier to figure out! My coworker found this dress on Rent the Runway, and I’m so happy she sent it to me because I NEVER would have considered it. The dress on the model actually looked terrible, but it looked amazing on real-life people. (I love that Rent the Runway has real-life pictures!) I was comfortable and it was a really fun dress to wear.

The day after I got home, I was EXHAUSTED. The trip was non-stop and I had wine three nights in a row which is really rare for me. But, I put on the bright red lipstick that they had given to all of us and magically, it distracted from how tired I was. 😉 I can’t believe how much I love this lipstick. It’s a gorgeous shade of red and it looked amazing on literally every person I saw wearing it in D.C., all skin tones, hair colors, everything. It’s not drying, doesn’t smudge and stays on even after eating and drinking. I just touched it up a few times throughout the day for a more intense look. I highly recommend it!
