I still can barely write or talk about this without tearing up, overwhelmed with gratitude, so I’ll keep it brief: Tommy and I got engaged last weekend and we are absolutely thrilled!! (Seriously I’m sitting here at 6:30 AM typing this with tears streaming down my face.)
Before I met Tommy, I never knew this level of happiness existed. I never knew I could feel this way about someone else – absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude and love. There’s also a profound feeling of partnership in our relationship, which is so important to me. And, I genuinely LIKE him. Love is so so important, but it’s equally important to LIKE the person you’re with. I love hanging out with him, I value his advice, he makes me laugh, and I’m just in awe of all he is and all he does.
And Maizey obviously approves.
We are so excited to be an official family. 🙂
I’m also so grateful for a loving God who brought such an amazing man into my life (via our friend Matt 🙂 ).
If you’re new here, here’s the story of how we met.
I’ve gotten a lot of questions/comments on Instagram and Facebook about the engagement and how it happened, and yes, I will share more details! But right now, I’m just enjoying basking in the newness of this! I’m thinking in a week or so, I may attempt Facebook Live (if I can figure out how to do it 😉 ) so he and I can both tell y’all the story together and you can ask questions. And if you can’t watch when we do, I can embed the video here after the fact. So, keep an eye out for a date/time on that! [Update – here’s how he proposed!]

Still so happy for you, and I’d love to hear the story. I’ve been married almost 19 years, but the excitement of engagement stories never gets old! And even this many years later – we’ve known each other for nearly 25 years – I still love him even more every day (I can’t really describe how love has grown and changed over the years). The biggest gift in it all is the unconditional love in return, shown in so many big and small ways. Best wishes to you both!
